[Bug 243221] Re: Cannot rebuild thumbnails for an album, only the entire collection
Oliver, F5 only rebuilds the thumbnails for the current view. This is not useful for large albums. It is also not useful for albums containing sub-albums. By the way, I think there should be an option to have digiKam give the thumbnailing process for rebuilding all thumbnails a low nice-value like 10 or so. It is a very CPU intensive procedure and it takes a long time for collections of a reasonable size. -- Cannot rebuild thumbnails for an album, only the entire collection https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/243221 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I have this problem too. I used a freshly installed Kubuntu 7.10. Clicked the little update icon and agreed to install the updates. Then I get: There was an error commiting changes. [Bug 177034] Re: Gwenview crashes frequently
I tried what you described. But apport-qt made a report for wget, but it was not wget that crashed. I guess this was because I had a wget crash file in /var/crash. This is the content of /var/crash when I started apport-qt: $ ll /var/crash total 50272 -rw--- 1 tdn tdn 17630097 2007-12-18 19:26 _usr_bin_gwenview.1000.crash -rw--- 1 tdn tdn 4039569 2007-12-10 23:00 _usr_bin_ktorrent.1000.crash -rw--- 1 tdn tdn 691400 2007-12-12 07:58 _usr_bin_wget.1000.crash -rw--- 1 tdn tdn 24942224 2007-12-18 16:28 _usr_lib_opera_9.24-20071015.6_opera.1000.crash -rw--- 1 tdn tdn 4099549 2007-12-18 16:28 _usr_lib_opera_plugins_operapluginwrapper.1000.crash But then I guessed that I just should remove the other files in /var/crash, so that I only had gwenview crash file: $ rm -fv /var/crash/_usr_bin_ktorrent.1000.crash /var/crash/_usr_bin_wget.1000.crash /var/crash/_usr_lib_opera_9.24-20071015.6_opera.1000.crash /var/crash/_usr_lib_opera_plugins_operapluginwrapper.1000.crash removed `/var/crash/_usr_bin_ktorrent.1000.crash' removed `/var/crash/_usr_bin_wget.1000.crash' removed `/var/crash/_usr_lib_opera_9.24-20071015.6_opera.1000.crash' removed `/var/crash/_usr_lib_opera_plugins_operapluginwrapper.1000.crash' Then I started /usr/share/apport/apport-qt again, but then it just starts up and shuts down. I have tried stracing it. Strace is attached. ** Attachment added: STDERR from: strace /usr/share/apport/apport-qt http://launchpadlibrarian.net/10971678/apport.strace.txt -- Gwenview crashes frequently https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/177034 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 177345] Thunderbird creates a lot of tmprules-NNN.dat files in /tmp
Public bug reported: Mozilla Thunderbird creates a lot of files in /tmp but does not remove them. This is annoying and I think it is a bug. [Bug 82528] Re: Write load on DM-Crypt LUKS partition with reiserfs jams system
Please try it and compile 2.6.24-rc4 if you can. This bug is supposed to be fixed with that kernel version. Sounds great. But when can I expect this to be fixed in Ubuntu? Will the next release of Ubuntu use this kernel? Or will this fix be imported into Ubuntu, so that I can expect a kernel update in some time? Sadly, I own a dual-core-CPU now, and this makes a bit hard for me (non-programmer) to verify if the bug is actually fixed. I am just curious as to why you cannot verify this on a dual-core CPU? Does this but not affect dual-core CPUs? I can confirm this bug. I use LUKS with ext3 on Kubuntu Feisty. When I have moderate disk activity the system is almost unusable. I think this is a scheduling problem. Although extra computations are needed when using encrypted filesystems, these extra computations should not have such a high priority that it should be impossible to use the computer for audio, video, moving the mouse around, etc. I have a 1.8GHz Pentium M processor.
