[Bug 794814] Re: Wireless networking is broken in 2.6.32-33
i confirm exactly the same problem (i.e. same ubuntu version, same wifi card, same errors) on my thinkpas X200. the bug seems to be pretty well understood. what, however, is the solution? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/794814 Title: Wireless networking is broken in 2.6.32-33 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/794814/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 309650] Re: network manager is not running although connected to Internet
to get the devices managed, do as follows: open the file /etc/NetworkManager/nm-system-setting.conf and set manage=true after performing the solution from the previous comment and this one, i got my NM .7 (intrepid) running again and connection to any desired network. -- network manager is not running although connected to Internet https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/309650 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 309650] Re: network manager is not running although connected to Internet
I don't think this entry relates to a bug in NM. Rather settings on the user's computer cause NM to malfunction. By following the steps in this report (and the link therein) one should be able to get NM up and running again, without much effort. ** Changed in: network-manager (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = videokunst (videokunst) Status: Incomplete = Fix Committed -- network manager is not running although connected to Internet https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/309650 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 309650] Re: network manager is not running although connected to Internet
got NM to run again, yet device is unmanaged. to get NM running check whether you have old versions of libnl* installed in /usr/lib or /usr/local/lib (see http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=739056) for the unmanaged device problem i have no solution yet. nonetheless https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox-3.0/+bug/191889 has been suggested. -- network manager is not running although connected to Internet https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/309650 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 309650] Re: network manager is not running although connected to Internet
same here. i tried to set /etc/NetworkManager/nm-system-settings.conf manage=true, but that didn't seem to improve anything. in fact, after this change my wifi was down and stayed down until i reset the previous change. nm-tool doesn't launch since 'apparently' no NM is running. nm-applet produces the following: u...@ubuntu:~$ nm-applet [1] 7514 u...@ubuntu:~$ ** (nm-applet:7514): WARNING **: WARN applet_dbus_manager_start_service(): Could not acquire the NetworkManagerUserSettings service as it is already taken. [Bug 221633] Re: 3945ABG wireless card dosen not work with 8.04
I may confirm this bug on a Lenovo R61. Under Ubuntu 7.10 wireless worked fine, using the restricted driver, but using 8.04 no LED and no connection seems possible. -- 3945ABG wireless card dosen not work with 8.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/221633 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
