when I boot with noapic eventually irq 7 (spurious) fails and is disabled ... usb used irq 7 so then no usb. boot with apic ... if in ubuntu logo boot screen or Xwindow (nvidia) then no problems ... as soon as I switch to a console (alt + fn) then system hangs. somtimes console is random colours i.e red text purple background. seems to be the same for generic and low latency kernels. upon resume I get a console screen with 10? lines of text (kernel messages) about usbdev remaining suspended ... i think ... ?
