Hi,

Thanx for sharing this.  Interesting direction Ubuntu's taking, suits
the moniker for the next release, Maverick Meerkat.  Also, makes me
want to join the Ayatana mailing list just to see how this thing works
out.

I'm just concerned about how this will be integrated into other DEs.
Almost all the work that Canonical has done recently in UI/UX has been
in GNOME only.  It would be good if users of other DEs
(KDE/XFCE/E17/etc) too got a slice of this goodness.  :)  It took KDE
almost 7-8 months to have a notification system similar to the new
libnotify one in GNOME to be integrated properly with major KDE apps
like Amarok.
