I am going to summarize the procedure step-wise (please confirm):

Alternate 1:
Step One: Install Ubuntu 8.10 on the computer (or use the existing
installation)

Step Two: Download the Ubuntu Education CD 8.10 (the add-on cd) available
from the mirros listed on http://www.edubuntu.com/download#addoncd

Step Three: Burn the downloaded iso image on a blank cd

Step Four: Install the Edubuntu 8.10 Desktop from this newly created cd

Step Five: Install remastersys (instructions at
http://www.remastersys.klikit-linux.com/ubuntu.html)

Step Six: Run remastersys and create the LiveCD or LiveDVD of the Edubuntu
8.10 and

Step Seven: Enjoy :-)

Alternate 2:
Step One: Install Ubuntu 8.10 on the computer (or use the existing
installation)

Step Two: Run Synaptic Package Manager --- Install edubuntu-desktop

Step Three: Follow Steps 5, 6 7 of Alternate 1 above

Sorry about the unnecessary question. The link that you gave me has all
the details. Thanks. But I would really like to know, how would you create a
 Edubuntu LiveCD using remastersys.

You can download the installable one , install it and then run remastersys
to create a Live DVD . Alternatively , you can use a Desktop Edition of
Ubuntu , install required edubuntu packages from the repo , and then run
remastersys. I would however , reccomend the first method.

To make a Live CD you can use remastersys. Install
Ubuntu/Kubuntu/Edubuntu/*buntu . Add / Remove packages to customize your
distro. Then you can use remastersys to build a live cd . However , the iso
file created by remastersys generally exceeds 700 Mb.

Actually the link which you gave is not of LiveCD. It's Desktop

When I used Edubuntu last on Edgy, it wasnt.
There are only two types of CD's avilable AFAIK for Edubuntu - Graphical

You mean addon cd's like aptoncd's?

Since neither of the two softwares allow two cd drives, you cant mount
them together. But this problem can arise only if the distro is live.

First you need to install edubuntu from cd to virtual hard disk under qemu.
Then shut down the VM.
Then restart it and use the addon cd iso as cd-drive

Oh! I just missed out this fact. I have used Edubuntu 6.10 and the
download section says that from 8.04, they have changed the structure.

Maybe the only way left is to transfer the addon cd over the network
(the crude way). This can surely work. I have done once before, but
faced lots of problems as configuring NFS is also an issue. The only way
is to run an HTTP server on host, put the addoncd on the host and access
this server from the guest using Firefox. This can be a better method
though looks weird.

For the above you should have enough RAM as 430MB of addoncd would
probably be stored on the RAM of the guest OS.

Cheers,
Manish
