Restarting X doesnt work. Only a reboot works. Any other ideas, solutions and causes are welcome. Also I do not use suspend or Hibernate nor have made any changes to the mouse properties or pointer and use a regular 2button +wheel mouse with USB connector. -- ubuntu-in mailing list ubuntu-in@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in

Though what I am suggesting is not a solution but just a work-around - Just restart x (was Ctrl+Alt+Backspace earlier [1], don't know after Karmic). This way, you will again be presented with the login screen, without rebooting the computer. However, while doing this, please bear in mind that if you had started any apps after logging in will be closed and will need to be started again - its like logging out and logging in again. [ubuntu-in] Mouse icon doesn't show
Hi Sometimes when i boot up, the mouse pointer doesn't show. The pointer is there because when i move the mouse, i can see desktop items being highlighted when it passes over them, but it is invisible. I reboot to resolve this issue and everything is back to normal, the mouse pointer is there and can be seen. However i thing this can be resolved without rebooting. How? And why does this happen and how to prevent it? Regards Narendra Diwate -- ubuntu-in mailing list ubuntu-in@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in
