The laptop has an internal modem and my parents have been unable to configure it. They live in Lansdowne and there are no hopes of getting broadband there. They will be in Delhi for few days in first week of June, so I was wondering if somebody could help them there in configuring it. The place where my parents live they can only get Dial-up modem. They are in Delhi for a few days only. The laptop only has a 56kbps dial up modem. Since Dell are now supporting Ubuntu, Novell etc. why not approach support team of Dell either by phone or email for solution of the hardware. Hey Guys I hope you remember as the person bugging you who sent his laptop to parents with UBUNTU. The laptop is Inspiron 5100. If you remember they are having trouble configuring modem (dial up, and yes its dial up, no broadband suggestions please). I bought them a serial modem only to find out that Dell Inspiron 5100 has no serial port. They will be in New Delhi from June 1 onwards for four days.
