I think that would be a great idea. Perhaps, have some sort of
training for sales associates. Or even, have some flyers by the
computers for sale explaining all the differences, adn that there is
an open source alternative to almost everything..

The only way we are going to see penetration into the consumer market in
which sales representatives are able to help customers make informed
decisions is through user education.  There are many aspects of the movement
Ubuntu is involved in that we all take for granted.  Even your average "Mom
& Pop" stores would only be able to sell these based on their own
experiences with the community and the software itself.

[ubuntu-marketing] Help needed for release notes for Hardy Release Candidate

Hi folks,

The Hardy Release Candidate is due out this Thursday, so yet again we need a
web page, similar to http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/hardy/beta but
incorporating the changes between beta and RC.  Can someone here take care
of preparing this?

A wiki version of the Hardy Beta page that you can draw from is available
at

 as a staging area for this work.
