But I'd be happy to see more Ubuntu or Linux or open standard advocacy in any format. There are parts of this I'd like to use on our loco website, too, assuming Paul is ok with it. dan -- ubuntu-marketing mailing list ubuntu-marketing@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-marketing

Ubuntu (or rather Canonical) is different because it precisely is addressing the market needs in addition to upholding the philosophy of FOSS. Let the Word format help Ubuntu to replace Windows Vista. Re: [ubuntu-marketing] Advertising Campaign (Paul Huinker)
Hello All: It's an interesting document explaining the objectives of a marketing campaign, but doesn't seem to present any ideas on what the actual ads would be. A few appendices with some ideas for the ads themselves along with what you have here wouldn't hurt. Remember to let people know what Ubuntu does for them, not just what Ubuntu does. Also if the cost of your ad spend is not restricted by the rules of the contest, why not spend some more money and bring in the print media. You should be able to find the media kit for any of the magazines that you can think of on line. Then you could include your full page, 1/2 page and 1/4 page layouts in the appendices. Re: [ubuntu-marketing] Advertising Campaign
Ah, I didnt even try. Its been so long since i've opened proprietary formatted docs on my Linux machine, I just forgot that would work. I do find it a little ironic that an advertising campaign for Ubuntu is distributed in Word format, though. dan On Wed, Feb 27, 2008 at 1:24 PM, Michael Ramm <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Dan, > It opened in OpenOffice straight up for me. > > Michael > > On 2/27/08, Dan Trevino <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Do you have a version I can open?
