Re: [ubuntu-marketing] UWN 30

2007-03-06 Thread Martin Albisetti
Lionel,

I actually meant #31 by sunday ;)
Not sure if it's going to be possible, but I'd like it very much if it would.

I've been working on UWN #30 all night and can't find anything left to
do, so I sent an email to Corey Burger for him to give it a quick
look. He's the one that has to ultimately approve and publish it.

I'll look forward to all of you helping out in UWN #31, hanging out at
#ubuntu-marketing in freenode usualy helps too.

By publishing UWN #31 on sunday you mean 30 no ? Can we publish #30 as
it is ? What are the showstoppers ? After a quick look on the wiki, it
looks good.

Re: [ubuntu-marketing] UWN 30

2007-03-06 Thread bapoumba
Hello Martin,

I've been contributing to last 3 or 4 issues of UWN (and get to
translate it in French with others since last summer). I used to edit
the wiki before UWN gets into gobby. I'll check into issue #31 and let
you know of some news I'd like to add. I'm currently at work and
cannot do it right now.

Cheers to you, and thank you for your time, Martin,

Isabelle

PS: regarding gobby sessions, we already spent one full evening,
sometimes two, to translate UWN (also during a gobby session. Lionel
Porcheron has set up a gobby server at home for this) . I have not
been contributing to UWN gobby sessions because of lack of time, but
am willing to help get it back on tracks.

Beth:

While I get this UWN 30/31 thing solved, you can start by taking a
quick peak at:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuWeeklyNewsletter/EditingPolicies

And previous UWNs:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuWeeklyNewsletter/Issue29
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuWeeklyNewsletter/Issue28
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuWeeklyNewsletter/Issue27

If you click on "edit" you will find many useful comments on each section.
I will contact you directly when the new UWN 31 starts getting edited
(hopefully the next days).

That goes for anyone else. Whoever has some spare time and a little
love for Ubuntu can help, no matter how little time you have, it will
make a difference.

Health, safety, and productivity are the cornerstones of independence.
At the Orange County Deaf Advocacy Center we provide the training and
services necessary for the deaf and disabled to achieve equally and
independence in all areas of life.

[ubuntu-marketing] UWN 30

2007-03-05 Thread Martin Albisetti
In an effort to get UWN back on track, I would like to propose a quick
wrap up of the current one (whatever is there, is there, the rest will
go on UWN 31), and release UWN #31 on sunday.
That way we can make the UWN a "weekly" newsletter again.
It might have to be a bit shorter until more people get on board, or
some of the old editors come back, but at least we can keep it
running.

I'd love some feedback on the proposal, I'm a bit stuck on which
direction to go.

Cheers,

Hello :)

A couple of ideas here for UWN #30 :

1- karma corrections in Launchpad (which UWN section if relevant ?)

2- calls for Ubuntu book feisty update (Community News ?)

3- bug in libc6, and how it got fixed (which section if relevant ?)
