Re: Using a Gutsy Install CD directly on Menlow-Crown Beach system

2007-08-17 Thread Matt Zimmerman
The alternate CD doesn't use usplash, no. This looks like a kernel issue
and usplash is probably an unrelated issue.

Either way a bug report is coming. Just thought that maybe this was the same
 bug.

It's failing to load enough drivers to even find the CD.

Re: Using a Gutsy Install CD directly on Menlow-Crown Beach system

2007-08-17 Thread Matt Zimmerman
Sorry, just noticed that you said it doesn't happen with the other kernel.
So perhaps they're both kernel issues, but I think they're probably
unrelated (the installer hang is while loading storage drivers).

FW: Another xorg.conf change for moblin

This should apply to UME also once the 2D driver is incorporated into
the build.

 Rob,

When you update the xorg.conf file, could you also please get
rid (maybe just comment out) the following lines on the Monitor
 section?

 HorizSync 28-51
 VertRefresh 43-60

The Poulsbo driver is smart enough to figure out the right
frequencies from querying the displays. These lines cause
harm because they prevent xrandr to properly report the
native resolution of the LVDS panel (1024x600 becomes 800x600).

 Thanks a lot. rgds,

UME Daily Builds Aren't Happening

2007-08-17 Thread Johnson, Charles F
The daily menlow_full builds appear to be just clones of the previous
day. Bit for bit identical. MD5SUM is identical.

Can someone check what is up?

Applications on the way

2007-08-17 Thread Adilson Oliveira
Hi.

A few news from the front.
We already have a lpia arch rootstrap and we are adding support files
and applications to it.
In the line we already have claws (email), dates (part of Pimlico) and
stardict.
The idea is to all the applications built for lpia to be fully
hildonized but sharing the same code with i386 so just change the arch
and you have a different interface (build time). Those 3 are already
that way.
As many of the applications on the list have some sort of hildonization,
so to speak, much more will show-up next week.

[]s and have a nice weekend.

Adilson.
