Old godot3 package

2023-01-22 Thread GREAT DNG

Hello.

Please update the /godot3/ package in the /jammy/ repository, it is out
of date. Installing from /snap/ is not an solution, it is too resource
intensive.

Our Stable Release Update policy is described here:

   https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates

You are unlikely to find anyone on this mailing list who is willing to do
the work to update godot3 in jammy, given that this is a package synced from
Debian (so, no one in Ubuntu with specific expertise) and there is not even
a newer version available currently in the devel series, lunar.

There is also the backports pocket:

   https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuBackports

But this also depends on there being an updated package available in later
series.

Why do you say that the godot snap is more resource-intensive? Anyway, the
snap as it exists today seems to be at an earlier version than the deb that
ships in jammy (3.1 vs 3.2.3).
