Not sure whether you heard about this, but Docker is now also available as
a snap and directly updated by Docker Inc. This allows for latest CE
releases to make their way to Ubuntu 14.04 (and later) users – and of
course users of other distros, but that's less relevant   :-)

Docker-compose is included and up-to-date in the latest CE snaps  :-)
