I've accepted the invitation for ~motu and declined the one for
~ubuntu-core-dev. I'm not an admin of ~irc-ubuntu-motu-ops so can't do
anything there.

Hello,

Thanks for the hint.

I actually added two members yesterday : ~ubuntu-core-dev and
~irc-ubuntu-motu-ops,
and one member today : ~motu

Now, there are three invited members pending.
If someone could reject the invitations of the ~ubuntu-core-dev and
~irc-ubuntu-motu-ops,
and accept the invitation of ~motu,
then all would be as it should be.

That's not what we meant. :)

We meant adding ~ubuntu-motu or/and ~ubuntu-core-dev teams in the
~farsi-fonts team. So those who are members of ~ubuntu-motu and
~ubuntu-core-dev are also indirect members of the ~farsi-fonts team.
This helps in solving a bunch of ACL problems, amongst other things.

Really!? IMHO, it'd be nice to have access to push but it should in no
way be a bug. You can still create MPs, et al. I understand that it's
mildly annoying and cumbersome but I don't see this as a bug at all.
What if someone wants to maintain a package by themselves or wants to
make sure that anything that's pushed is at least reviewed, et al? I
mean, these are just trivial things but I don't see not having push
access to be a blocker or a bug.

OTOH, if we really see this as a bug, is this something that's
documented somewhere?

For the record, while this is in no way a blocker for accepting the package,
I consider it a bug to have an Ubuntu Vcs-Git field pointing to any
repository that can't be directly committed to by everyone who has access to
upload the package.

In this case, that could be addressed by adding ubuntu-motu to the
farsi-fonts team.

It should target "kinetic" and the upload goes to the -proposed pocket
(which is what Steve was referring to), from where it goes to the
-release pocket. :)

> The packages fonts-sahel and fonts-yas remain to be reviewed and sponsored:

I've sponsored the upload after making some trivial changes, which are
visible here: https://git.launchpad.net/~farsi-fonts/+git/fonts-sahel/log/

These basically are:
- d/watch: I've simplified the regex so it's now very simple to read
and understand. Let me know if you have any questions.
- d/control: I've added the Vcs-* fields.
- d/changelog: I've removed the "focal" and "jammy" entries because
we're first gonna target "kinetic". And adjusted the version number.

Simultaneously, I've also pushed two additional branches: upstream and
pristine-tar. Now that the pristine-tar branch exists with all the
data, it's going to be very easy to regenerate the orig tarball. You
just need to type "origtargz" and the orig tarball will be generated
from the data present in the branch. Do you know about these branches?
Should I explain more? There is a lot of documentation available,
though. :)

If this all makes sense to you, can you prepare fonts-yas the same
way? I'll be happy to sponsor that.

Hello again and thanks for your reply.

Sure, all repositories of farsi-fonts team have been migrated to git:
https://code.launchpad.net/~farsi-fonts/+git

The package fonts-vazirmatn is already sponsored by Steve Langasek <
steve.langa...@ubuntu.com>:
https://code.launchpad.net/~farsi-fonts/+git/fonts-vazirmatn
He said he would modify the changelog to kinetic-proposed.

The packages fonts-sahel and fonts-yas remain to be reviewed and sponsored:
https://code.launchpad.net/~farsi-fonts/+git/fonts-sahel
https://code.launchpad.net/~farsi-fonts/+git/fonts-yas

Thanks in advance.

Aah, sorry to hear that. That's probably because nobody had the time
yet(!?). For now, in case you'd like to migrate to Git, there's
documentation and steps available at

It should be trivial to switch to Git. Let me know how it goes if you

Alright, so how about this - we keep a single changelog entry
targeting "kinetic" and then once (and if) you migrate to Git, you can
create separate branches for Focal and Jammy. Note that you'll need to
SRU (cf: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates) them.

Does that make sense?

Hello,

Thanks for your answer.

Sure, it targets Kinetic. I just wanted to have focal and jammy in the
changelogs,
so that we can upload the deb files for both LTS revisions.

I am also more comfortable with Git.
The problem is that the tutorials I followed are old and they use Bzr.
I sent this issue in another email, but no one responded.
Today also someone asked on the mailing list if this tutorial could be
updated:

Thanks.

Your last revision (cf:

points it to Jammy (after the initial entry targeting Focal). This is
slightly confusing. D'you intend to upload to Kinetic instead? Or am I
