Any such plans are up to OEMs and carriers and will be NDAed until they
are ready to announce their plans.

[Ubuntu-phone] Landing team 05.01.16

2016-01-05 Thread Łukasz 'sil2100' Zemczak
Hello everyone,

Multiple landings happening today, with a few to mention being: new
qtubuntu, qtmir, ubuntu-download-manager (total size fixes),
indicator-sound + unity8 (volume control sync fixes) and qtmultimedia. A
new device tarball for the arale fixing some of the power-drain
regressions also got signed off by QA today, ready to land soon.

Today we also decided to delay the OTA-9 release date by a week. It
seems there's still a lot of fixes we would need to include before
release and just one week doesn't seem to be enough for most developers
to be done in time. The feature freeze still stays today, but all the
other deadlines are moved:

 - Feature/String Freeze: 5th of January
 - Final Freeze: 15th of January
 - OTA-9 planned release date: 27th of January

We apologize for the schedule change but without it we would probably
have to re-spin the candidate image anyway, with the final release
happening being delayed similarly. This way we can at least spend more
time on polishing the image.

Cheers!

2016-01-05 Thread Tiago Carrondo
Hi, all

I'll try to add my caldav to my uphone today but I have a question:
What's the right procedure of completly removing a sync source? in case
anything goes wrong?

I'm planing on following this procedure:
http://askubuntu.com/q/606020/22696

second question:
Is this the best solution?

Melhores cumprimentos/Regards

Hi Simon, is there any way the scripts on that page could be added to
Checkbox? I attached my Checkbox results to the bug yesterday, but
noticed that the "Logs" tab in the spreadsheet that is generated by
Checkbox is blank.

I am not really sure what checkbox does, but if its something to
automate those steps for users, that is absolutely something which can
be added. Feel free to ping me for details.

regards,
Simon

This is cleared once cordova-lib gets the update that makes everything
relative to the project root, not the www directory anymore.

Re: [Ubuntu-phone] Long time to get GPS fix - hardware of software problem?

I can fill the bug report only after few days. So maybe it would be
better for you to report it

It was working on OTA-6, but after OTA-8 till now (I'm on
rc-proposed now) it is broken for me. It can get a GPS fix
after ~5 mins (and this is a LOT). But, if I move it
doesn't change position on the map. After 1-2 minutes the
position will "jump" like
network-based fix.

Sure, feel free to file a bug here:

   https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/location-service

If you are happy to, it would be great if you could include
information according to:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Process/Merges/TestPlan/location-service#Forensics

Cheers,

   Thomas

Confirmed on my Mx4, also on rc-proposed. Please let us know
the bug report number. Thanks.

Sorry if I wasn't clear: I meant that it would be really
helpful if you could file a bug report and attach the
information listed in:

   https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Process/Merges/TestPlan/location-service#Forensics

Cheers,

   Thomas

Hi,

thanks, I realised what you intended, but posted the
confirmation as an encouragement to Simplehuman to bug-report as
it seems a real issue and s/he after-all, first reported the
issue and so should be allowed to make the report.
But in due course, I will do so.

Regards, R
