Re: [Ubuntu-phone] Blinking display

2016-04-03 Thread Vic G

Hi Sharman,

Could it be this bug?

https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1531167

This behaviour affects all kind of notifications and incoming calls
(proximity sensor is enabled before taking a call) and if it is in your
pocket the screen could start acting like that >_<. However, you're
saying that it's blinking on conversation, but I think it is triggered
by prox sensor too.

Please apply the bug! We want it fixed asap =)

BR,

An incoming call is taken
while on conversation with incoming call you need to use the windows
to see another feature such as the calendar
the display blinks, goes off and comes on, does not easily bring up
the unlock page where password can be typed and other windows used

I suspect the opposite might be true. I don't really know, but
how it looked to me was that U1 came too late, not too early.
File clouds were cool and profitable for a while, but competition
grew quickly until it was no longer possible to make money on
dropbox clones. Companies then used them as loss leaders but not
as profit centers.

Plus, U1 and its music store were a bit unreliable. Stories like
this were far too common: Someone would sync their desktop and
notebook, decide it was storing too much data on the notebook,
un-sync parts of it from the notebook, then discover a week later
that the data got "un-synced" from the desktop too -- leaving no
remaining copies. Or use it as a backup service, wipe their
drive to reinstall, then try to restore the backup... only to
discover that the "wipe" got synced to the backup copy and the
data was gone. It's possible to be a little *too* synchronized.

Re: [Ubuntu-phone] Bq screen

Differed issue than I thought - for some bizarre reason, the y axis
seems to be flipped... i.e., in order to unlock the phone (), I need
to hit the bottom left of the screen to recognise it as a touch input
for the 1. Doesn't seem to be anything I can manually reverse to make
this happen. Anyone with experience in this? Might call BQ later today...

Re: [Ubuntu-phone] Maximized windows on BQ

2016-04-03 Thread Filip Dorosz

Hi.

You just do not have enough space on the screen.
You can however get around it by switching to Staged mode.
Then You need to lock rotation while in landscape and enable window mode
again and you will be able to minimize your windows because you will
have enough horizontal space to see buttons.

Hi,

that happened to me in the past with other phones (it was Nokia
Lumias if I remember correctly), it is probably because the charger
is not grounded and the digitizer is not perfectly isolated, so it
gets some electricity and it thinks you're touching the display when
you're actually not. It's similar to what happens when you use your
phone under the rain (don't try this at home :D).
I'm not sure if this is a hardware defect of your phone or all the

I was experiencing this from months. I created this new bug:

2. GPS Denied in the middle of a route:
You're using the GPS, and without reason, it stops. It doesn't return

If you cancel the route and set a new one, a popup will tell you that
the GPS is denied.

I experienced this in OSM (From Alan) too.
You know uNav is not freeze because you can drag the map.
I created this new bug:

3. Freeze app: Same behavior that previous error, but you can't drag

I think it could be this bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/webbrowser-app/+bug/1557703

I didn't create a bug.

I said these bugs could be in the system side, because uNav hasn't

[Ubuntu-phone] Issues in uNav (I think from the system)

2016-04-03 Thread Costales

Hi,

There are several issues in uNav that IMHO they are comming from the system.

1. White screen:
I think it is because a high process and oxide kills the page.
I was thinking it could be this bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/oxide-qt/+bug/1375215
But it was released, then maybe it's another issue (?).
I was experiencing this from months. I created this new bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1565470

2. GPS Denied in the middle of a route:
You're using the GPS, and without reason, it stops. It doesn't return
more positions.
If you cancel the route and set a new one, a popup will tell you that
the GPS is denied.

I experienced this in OSM (From Alan) too.
You know uNav is not freeze because you can drag the map.
I created this new bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1565469

3. Freeze app: Same behavior that previous error, but you can't drag the
map, then the app is totally freeze.
I think it could be this bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/webbrowser-app/+bug/1557703

I didn't create a bug.

I said these bugs could be in the system side, because uNav hasn't dumps
in its log.

Thanks in advance!

[Ubuntu-phone] Blinking display

2016-04-03 Thread Shahram

Blinking display and going on and off

when the phone is in locked mode
An incoming call is taken
while on conversation with incoming call you need to use the windows to
see another feature such as the calendar
the display blinks, goes off and comes on, does not easily bring up the
unlock page where password can be typed and other windows used

[Ubuntu-phone] Calendar - Agenda Display

2016-04-03 Thread Shahram

Calendar - Agenda Display

Occasionally when the calendar is put on Agenda, it does not show
anything (just blank white page)

The other modes of the calendar work
It needs to be restarted for the agenda to display properly (sometimes
even after restart the issue continues)

[Ubuntu-phone] UTC / local time and Calendar

2016-04-03 Thread Shahram
The case when UTC was changed to local British summer time and all
calendar events were added an hour

Hi

Regarding the closing of the UTC and Calendar event issue
Although it is true that :
if for example you were moving from London to Paris and had to change
time from UTC to UTC+1 then the calendar events need to also be original
time + 1

However
- When staying in the same location & need the time to automatically
change to summer time (+1)

It is not true that:
that calendar events should change as well to (+1)

Problem1:
The ubuntu phone while on UTC time did not change automatically to
summer time.

It had to be manually changed.

Problem 2:
Although when changed from UTC to local British time, it did change to
summer time automatically

But wrongly it also changed the calendar events to (+1)

I believe this case should be reopened

Thanks
shahram
