It will be an image for emulator too? On OTA-11? And the next to come?

[Ubuntu-phone] Landing team 24.05.16

2016-05-24 Thread Łukasz 'sil2100' Zemczak
Hello everyone,

Our final OTA-11 candidates now entered final testing and so far we do
not anticipate any more rebuilds required. We should be on schedule for
next week.

As for OTA-12 a lot of landings today: a new location-service fixing the
crash related to new network-manager stack in rc-proposed (this
basically fixes the no-network-based location on frieza for OTA-11), new
telephony-service (UITK 1.3 changes), address-book-app,
address-book-service, qtubuntu-sensors and qtubuntu-media arm64
enablement for xenial, new ubuntu-system-settings with error detection
improvements, new unity8 (bugfixes, mostly for screen dimming),
unity-system-components and finally multiple qtmir fixes.
With development work on OTA-11 out of the way, more and more changes
for the next milestone are landing - really nice to see that.

More news tomorrow.

[Ubuntu-phone] Printing from ubuntu-phablet... again

2016-05-24 Thread Tom Rausner
Hi All.

Some time ago this mail-exchange took place on this forum;

1. Email;

Hi all.

I just want to know if printing from phone and tablet is in progress and
if; how far is it from being implemented ?

Tom

2. Email;

It is in progress, the core parts are working but we are waiting for UI
design and implementation so still a ways out.

The UI design for printing has been done since February 2014, with
changes only to notifications and error design since then.

If you really are waiting for UI design, please let me know why.

Thanks

Now I would like to know IF anything useful has happened since then
(like the coding guys and the design guys starting to cooperate) ?

Tom.

I don't think he's referring to partitioning, just space used as shown
in the system settings app. My first guess is another logrotate issue,
so perhaps check if the syslog is ridiculously big on the latter
device?

ubuntu does not touch the factory partitioning, especially on the nexus
devices where the rootfs is in a loop mounted image (vs a real
partition on the retail devices)

so whatever did the last install of an android OS on your device did
the partitioning ...
