According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kuririn, the correct
spelling is with double "l". The device label in system settings is
misspelled.

[Ubuntu-phone] Update Firefox on bq M10 tablet

2016-06-02 Thread Sven Mantwill
After the update to OTA 11 the bq M10 tablet has Firefox 44.0 as a
browser for convergence. However, Firefox 46.0.1 is the latest available
version. How could I install the latest version of Firefox on my Ubuntu

FWIW, that page lists E4.5 image as "krillin" (with double l), while the
E4.5 at hand shows "KRILIN01A-S15A_BQ_L100EN_2033_160524" (with a single

I updated today evening the BQ E4.5 of my wife and it worked as always,
i.e. the download in the System Settings dialog. Maybe I missed on my
own device the download there. Sorry for the noise and keep your good

Its the system partition at
/dev/mmcblk0p6 2.0G 2.0G 0 100% /

I do not think there is any way to re-partition these
You will need to flash it over usb, assuming you have an E4.5 and want
stable

ubuntu-device-flash touch --channel ubuntu-touch/stable/bq-aquaris.en

should do it. It will also remove any extra packages you had installed via
apt, but that would have happened with the system update as well.
It will not remove your user data.

No, the info is correct: the *ubuntu* version number is now dynamic

hardcoded until the bug I referred to is fixed (should be landing

I assumed it's a Parrot config issue because when I go to the

[Ubuntu-phone] IMPORTANT: Note about changelogs

2016-06-02 Thread Robert Park
Hi guys,

TL;DR: Bileto is currently unconditionally forcing all MP Commit
Messages into the changelog, so leave that field blank if your branch
supplies it's own changelog.

So with the big rollout a couple days ago I've been keeping a close
eye on the builds and seeing what's happening. One thing I'm seeing is
a lot of duplicate changelog entries, like this:

+ * New upstream release
+- blah
+- blah
+ * New upstream release

What's happening here is that the input MP writes it's own
debian/changelog, but then also supplies a commit message on the MP,
so when building it calls dch with the MP commit message, adding a
duplicate changelog entry to what was already there.

I realize this is a regression from the previous behavior which was
able to not duplicate messages in this way, so I'll work on fixing
this. For now, however, as a workaround please leave the "Commit
Message" field on your merge proposal empty, if you've written your
own debian/changelog. When you leave the commit message field blank,
bileto (and the old train code) use debcommit to commit your branch,
which reads the message from debian/changelog and makes the bzr commit
from that (debcommit was always a supported feature, it's just that
now bileto is getting confused when MPs supply both a commit message
and a debian/changelog entry).

Apologies for the inconvenience!

Hello again,

Since we're at the beginning of the OTA-12 cycle more-or-less, we
finally removed the obsolete frameworks from the meta packages [1]. This
means that those will be no longer present starting from the next
rc-proposed image.

Be sure to port your applications to the latest supported frameworks!
This change will migrate to stable with OTA-12.

You can also check `/android/cache/recovery/last_log` right after trying
the update or the general `log` file.

can you file a bug in launchpad please and attach any log you find in

Thanks.

Here's an example of my pro 5 upgrading using that command line:-

I've never managed to get music steaming working via Bluetooth in my car. When
the unit find the musicfiles, it plays them back without sound. odd, as plugged

I also experienced this since OTA 9 with my Parrot 9200 bluetooth
handsfree, it would pair and connect, provide ringing alert, but no
voice on both sides. Also no music streaming from the phone app.

I assumed it's a Parrot config issue because when I go to the Parrot
menu under "Bluetooth Audio" and manually choose to connect with the
(already paird and connected) phone, all was working well, multiple
calls, music, audio and GPS sounds.
So maybe it's not presenting itself as an audio capable bluetooth device
anymore in the auto-negotiation?

I will update 1578178.

I've yet to try it on my new car, but was hoping this would be fixed in
OTA11.For me this has been a majour issue.

no, this is a very long process, there are massive differences that need
to be taken into account first and a lot of code bits need to be ported.
while 16.04 is a target, it will surely still take quite some time to
move everything to new technology (like systemd).

Here's an example of my pro 5 upgrading using that command line:-

I got the update around last midnight and installed it right a way. It
shows here OTA-11 now. Thanks for the hatd work of all.

Despite of this, the install changed. While until OTA-10.1 the download
progress occured inside the System Settings dialog, and one could stop
and restart it, it says now only 'install' and this brings up the orange
colored page with the word Ubuntu and a small line to show the progress
of download(!), more like an iPhone :-(

Thanks

The command line tool is "system-image-cli" and can be run with
"--help" to find out the options. "-n" is a good one (with sudo) for
doing a dry run upgrade.

system-image-cli --info will tell you what channel and version you're on.

The downloads are done by ubuntu-download-manager which has logs in
/var/log/ubuntu-download-manager - which may reveal some information?

2016-06-02 Thread Stefano Verzegnassi
Hi Matthias,

This is an issue in the Document Viewer. I have already prepared a fix
for this issue a month ago, before leaving the team.
No one is working on the DocViewer, so the merge proposal with the fix
is still waiting for a review. I guess you should wait for someone
from Canonical to have a look at it. ;)

See
https://code.launchpad.net/~verzegnassi-stefano/ubuntu-docviewer-app/content-hub-dont-load-async/+merge/294122

The bug itself is not tracked on Launchpad though.

Cheers,

[Ubuntu-phone] OTA 11 doesn't appear to install (probably)

2016-06-02 Thread Alan Bell
I got offered version 33 this morning, downloaded it and it went through
the install process, rebooted and it was still on 10.1 and offered me
version 33 which didn't need to download, it went through the install
process, rebooted and was on 10.1 and it offers me version 33 . . .

The phone hides information from users because it is a consumer device,
but that means I have no clue how my phone works, which I don't like
much. I have absolutely no idea what I can do to find out why my phone
didn't apply this update, or how to go through the update process from
the command line. Should I keep retrying the cycle of reboots? Do I need
to reflash the phone completely?

The physical size of the display is already taken into account for the
user agent string. Typically on a M10, the browser should be using a
desktop user agent. If it doesn’t then it’s a bug, feel free to report
it at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/webbrowser-app/+filebug
(please include the log file from the app that you’ll find at
/home/phablet/.cache/upstart/application-legacy-webbrowser-app-.log).

You can check the default UA string on your device by browsing to e.g.
http://www.whatsmyua.com/.

If that really is the case, it’s lame.

Re: [Ubuntu-phone] Aquaris M10 Libertine guide

2016-06-02 Thread Vic G

Hi!

Once you've done the first part(Initial setup) you'll have a new
"puritine2" container to install an app inside. To do this through
libertine-container-manager just run the following command of the second
part:

# libertine-container-manager install-package -i puritine2 -p inkscape

This way, inkscape is installed inside the container in the example, but
you could try with the one you want.

Please note that there's a warning lines at the top and not all apps
have been tested yet :)

Cheers,

I will take a look. Don't really understand how to install apps inside
the container. Seems like you fire something else than apt-get install.

Probably a well known thing :) (not for me thoug)
