[Ubuntu-phone] [Design] System-wide settings for Font Size.

2016-06-20 Thread Alexander Nilsen
Hello.
To be able to chose Font Size between

- small
- Normal
- LARGE

is an essential part of UI.
It's about choice, it's about comfort, it's about Usability.
It's an important design decision which should affect all applications
system-wide.
Please implement this feature in Ubuntu Phone.

Best regards

It depends. Some Androids stay silent in "silent" mode. And some even let
you switch camera-click off in camera-settings.

[Ubuntu-phone] Connect Ubuntu Phone to Windows as external disk

2015-11-15 Thread Alexander Nilsen
Hello.

When I connect my MX4 to my Windows laptop (Win10), the laptop shows it as
"MX4 Ubuntu Edition" , and explorer says "this folder is empty". I don't
see any files, and I can't copy any files to or do anything else. The icon
looks like mp3 player.
What can I do to gain normal access to file system with possibility to
read-write files?

[Ubuntu-phone] UI consistency sugestion

2015-11-04 Thread Alexander Nilsen
Hello.
I want to raise a suggestion for more consistency in Ubuntu Phone user
interface.
Particularly 2 UI elements: Back button and menu button.

Back button is located in left-upper corner, like here in Wi-Fi menu
Stretching the thumb to that corner is not easy (regardless left- or
right-hand usage).
More natural will be using horisontal swipe from the middle of the screen,
the same way as it's done for shuffling scopes back.

I think it will work almost everywhere, making interface experience more
streamlined.

The second one I want to talk about is Menu positioned in upper-right
corner. Evenif it's a slightly easier to reach than Back-button,it's still
far far away from my thumb (especially on Meizu MX4)
We already have a nice option in form of swiping from the bottom.
Can we move menu functionality to this gesture?
Is it possible to distinguish between 1.swipe-right-up;
2.swipe-bottom-to-right (or left for left-handed usage)?
Something like this:

Curvature of the menu is based on how far average user thumb can reach.
Again, it will increase usability and fits naturally to the rest of
interface.

If I want to issue my suggestion as a design blueprint, how/where can I do
it?

Re: [Ubuntu-phone] How to show weather/temperatire in Celsius

2015-10-30 Thread Alexander Nilsen
Hello again.
I was able to change it in Weather-application (and it works fine there).
But today scope still shows temperature in F.
I checked Weather Channel scope. It has only one option in setup (and it's
Enable Location Data).
My phone (MX4) language is set up to English (United States) just because I
like to use all my phones this way.
Just out of curiosity, I changed Language to English (Denmark), and now my
Today scope crushed and burned and showing the Date only (and nothing else).
So, I did a reboot.
And now, today scope is back , but still in F.

I asked BQ several times about prividing M4.5 with Ubuntu preinstalled, but
without the luch so far.
My question is, - is it possible to buy Android version of M4.5 and then

[Ubuntu-phone] Font Size Change in Ubuntu Phone

2015-10-23 Thread Alexander Nilsen
Hello.
I am missing possibility to change default font size in my Ubuntu Phone.
The current font size used on my Meizu MX4 is rather small.
Choosing between
small -> mediUM -> LARGE
will make phone more user-friendly.
I've seen that Telegram has option for font size, and that's it.
Changing Font Size globally, for all applications and scopes right from the
Setup should be implemented.
Is there any place I can fill some kind of request for it, cause it's not a
bug, but a feature.

[Ubuntu-phone] Dekko crushes on adding SMTP server configuration

2015-10-20 Thread Alexander Nilsen
Hello.

I was trying to add SMTP configuration for server smtp.online.no
All information typed correctly (it worked before), but right after adding
account type (you know, optional field with description like
Personal/Work), the whole application just crushes and I am back in
application-grid.
I did it twice with the same result.
...
After all, I discovered that both configurations were saved.

Do we have any guideline about how to report these kind of issues? (I am
kind of new user here)
