Thanks a lot to you Pat for being an awesome lead, pushing entire
teams of people right and left to get features landed and bugs fixed
on time for every OTA. This has been a great learning experience, and
I'm extremely happy to have been part of that.

I will second this. Thank you very much Pat for your dedication and

FYI: Several scopes are written in golang, for example:

And the unity-scopes-api and online-accounts at least have golang
bindings, for example:

Tapping the star removes the scope from your list of favorite scopes.

Tapping the star does not delete the scope.

To see all installed scopes, swipe up from the bottom of the Apps scope.

From there you can launch a scopes and tap the star to make it a favorite.

Re: [Ubuntu-phone] Impossible to create 15.04 chroot on both 15.10 and 16.04

Hi Roberto,

I did (previously) try that, and chroot create failed with a dependency
error.

It seems that the xenial ubutu-sdk-team tools-development ppa [1] does
not contain a click package: indeed it only has (that I can see)
go-get-ubunut-touch.

Hi,

I have a super simple and quick fix for the actually broken click chroot
creation.

I know many of us have been suffering from this issue, so it would be
cool to release the fix as soon as possible.

If you want to join me testing (Trusty, Wily, Xenial) the fix please
enable the Tools development PPA ->

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-sdk-team/tools-development && sudo
apt-get update && sudo apt-get install click

after that

$ sudo click chroot -a armhf -f ubuntu-sdk-15.04 create

This command will work only if you do _NOT_ have already an armhf
chroot. You can remove the existing chroot with this command

$ sudo click chroot -a armhf -f ubuntu-sdk-15.04 destroy

or if the chroot is from the canned chroot package you can remove that
package like ->

$ sudo apt-get remove ubuntu-sdk-api-15.04-armhf

After testing this new click package please do remove the Tools
development PPA ->

$ sudo ppa-purge ppa:ubuntu-sdk-team/tools-development

Please ping or mail me if you need any help or assistance.

After some investigation we have realized that the click chroot creation
was blocked by two separate issues.

1) In the Overlay PPA we had a broken dependency on perl-base ->
pay-service -> libpay2 -> libqt5purchasing5 -> qml-module-qtpurchasing.
The issue was solved in Wily and in Xenial, so it was just about the
time to port the fix back to the Overlay PPA

2) Both the the ubuntu-sdk-libs and the ubuntu-html5-container package
was depending on liboxideqt-qmlplugin and the ubuntu-sdk-libs depends on
ubuntu-html5-container. The apt freaked out and so the click chroot
creation failed.

Both issues are fixed by now, so the click chroot is back in business.

The moral of this story is that bootstrapping a chroot is sensitive
operation... specially when the source of the chroot is a constantly
moving system. In case of the click chroot is acting up it is suggested
to use the static chroot packages -> ubuntu-sdk-api-15.04-[armhf|i386]
provided by the SDK Release PPA.

The other moral is that yes, we are working on a solution to get rid of
that schroot for good :)

Can you please file a bug here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/nearby-scope/+filebug

And please attach your /home/phablet/.cache/upstart/scope-registry.log
file at the time you saw the issue.

Also, include the output of:
system-image-cli -i

And attach the generated myclicks, from:
click list --all > myclicks.

It would also be helpful if you could set you phone to English and make
another video demonstrating the problem.

Set your device to English by running this command from adb attached laptop:
phablet-config welcome-wizard --enable

You may need to reboot, then select English in the wizard and complete.

since today OTA, NearBy sometimes doesn't load data as it should.
Please see video for details:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eT0c4KVlZVJvDdmDKzOal6EhDAmBc66YIg/view

in example (1:18) there is a text 'Bankomaty (ATM)...', but showing weather.

1:20 - "Gry pomagające się wyładować (Games to let off some steam)" -
below that phase we can see hairdresser or beauty place.

2:09 - again "Bankomaty (ATM)...", but we see bars.

Choosing "Nudzę się (bored)" don't do nothing - loads the same data as
general "Jak się czujesz (how do you feel)".

I installed also Places scope and added it to NearBy. My suggestion:
there should be more results than 4 (if we choose 'see all', we see...
one more), like in Yelp. And pictures should be smaller.
Also in Places scope there should be option to rate place.

Anyone also noticed that bugs?

Best regards,
Krzysztof Tataradziński

Hi Wayne,

A bug [1] was filed against Today scope requesting the Day icon be made
smaller. I've responded there.

Regarding the vertical size of Weather in the Today scope: Can you
please file a bug against today scope [2] with the suggestion?

Thanks!

to big.

Also does anybody know if there is any owncloyd apps or intergration
being devoloped I already use owncloud for my calender and contacts
and data with scripts but a app to control this we be great and making
the task app intergrate with owncloud would be awesome.

Any feedback appreciated

Hi Jani,

My calls-scope and texts-scope both show the contact's avatar when there

Broken how? Please described the issue.

The orange line at the bottom goes left-right for some minutes but no
data is presented when it stops.

Is your Today scope functioning normally (except for this possible
issue with calls)?

Yes

ok. Can you provide log files from your phone?

For example, the scope-registry.log:
$ adb pull /home/phablet/.cache/upstart/scope-registry.log .

And I'd like to know what click packages you have installed:
$ adb shell click list clicks

(these commands only work for physically connected phones in developer
mode with phablet-tools installed on the workstation)

Thanks,
Kyle

Even when i try to load the calls scope alone it shows nothing. I have
version 1.3.1 installed.

I will try unistalling and installing it again and will report back.

However I think that a broken child scope making an aggregation scope
not function right is a bug.

absolutely.

Re: [Ubuntu-phone] [Bulk] Problem with Today scope after OTA 6

2015-08-27 Thread knitzsche

Hi,

Based on your scope-registry.log, I wonder whether your network is
actually on and working. I also wonder whether you have disabled
Location in Today scope settings.

This is based on the following, which happens every time you refresh the
Tdoay scope:

Location object not found:  unity::scopes::NotFoundException:
SearchMetadata::location() (name = location)

= The JSON file missing!

(line one indicates location is not known, but the exception is
hanleded, and line two indicates you have never successfully connected
the Day scope with a web api because doing so caches the json file and
it is never found.)

Can you please
1) ensure your network is available and working
2) turn on location in Today settings
3) enable all child socpes in Today settings

And report back what happens?

Thanks,
Kyle
