Hi

Does anyone know that there will be some docking station for 10 inch
BQ tablet with Ubuntu? I think that something like that
http://www.tablety.pl/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Samsung_Dock-320x306.jpg would
be great. In example I'm in travel and I need to write a lot of texts. Instead
of fighting with touch keyboard, I plugin my new shiny tablet into that to move
into mini PC:) I also think that there should be some similar stuff for bigger
phones (like MX4).

take a look at the logitech K480 keyboard ... it is around 50€ and
supports connection of three devices simultaneously with a physical dial
to switch easily between them.

ciao

As discussed before, MX4 doesn't support MHL

Anyone tried this BT thinkpad keyboard/trackpoint ?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823218058

It doesn't have docking capabilities but "looks" almost as good as the one
that comes with thinkpad laptops.

Best,
Felipe.

Re: [Ubuntu-phone] Docking station

2016-02-12 Thread Randall Ross 
It would be worth asking BQ directly for a docking station option. If
enough people do it, perhaps it could happen.

My view: it's something that most people would need for a tablet of this
size, so a product sold without one is incomplete. Forcing customers to
seek out a third-party docking station misses the opportunity for:
1) Uniform branding and design, and,
2) The predictability/reliability of having a known hardware configuration.

Cheers,
Randall.

2016-02-11 Thread Peter Bittner
I think you can use any bluetooth keyboard with an integrated stand.

For example, an article from 2013 [1] lists the "Kensington KeyFolio
Pro 2" that is designed for a 10" tablet, such as the iPad 2/3/4.
Amazon lists the "Belkin QODE Ultimate Wireless Keyboard and Case" as
an alternative. Both are also cases that protect your tablet.

[1] http://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/best-bluetooth-keyboards/
[2] http://www.belkin.com/us/p/P-F5L151/

Disclaimer: Note that I'm just guessing, I haven't tried or seen any
of those keyboard+cases in real life.
