Re: [Ubuntu-phone] Landing team 17.05.16
Hi Thanks for the reply! It's mostly on the skillset side at least for me... But also because I don't have slightest clue on how to even begin debugging such problems, let alone where to get the code and how to compile and push it back to a device for testing. Is there any documentation available for this?? I have experience on python and coding on arduino platform. > On 18.5.2016, at 11.30, Łukasz 'sil2100' Zemczak > wrote: > > Hello Timo, > > It is worth noting that the milestone bug list is not something that is > locked down and final - new bugs will be added as they go. Hello Timo, It is worth noting that the milestone bug list is not something that is locked down and final - new bugs will be added as they go. The milestone list is more like a priority pointers, meaning, we list the issues that we would like to prioritize. Hopefully at least one of the bugs you mentioned might get fixed in time. Of course please also remember that this are all open-source projects. We have limited resources, but basically anyone with the right skill-set can dive into an issue and prepare a fix - not only Canonical employees. Hi, Thank you for the info on upcoming OTA-12. Personally I'm a little disappointed as there is no plan on fixing the Alt-gr keyboard bug and BLE/smart bluetooth problems. These two are preventing me to use the M10 as intended... Could canonical consider adding fixes to bugs #1565236 and #1576986/1574540 in OTA-12?? > On 17.5.2016, at 23.17, Łukasz 'sil2100' Zemczak > wrote: > > Hello everyone, > > Today we had first landings released for the OTA-12 milestone, with a > new ubuntu-system-settings disabling some unneeded extra vibrations on > panel selection and a new ubuntuone-credentials. Re: [Ubuntu-phone] Landing team 17.05.16
Dar all, fully support the view that the next OTA-12 focuses more on fixes than on features. Knowing that there is a fine balance especially such a young system like Ubuntu Touch has to find. But it is worth to take some time for clean up after the exciting and rushing last periods with so many new features and devices. Please keep on with this good work! Hello everyone, Today we had first landings released for the OTA-12 milestone, with a new ubuntu-system-settings disabling some unneeded extra vibrations on panel selection and a new ubuntuone-credentials. From the looks of it our next update will be more about fixes than features. Check out the current milestone bug list to have an overview of what's planned: https://launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+milestone/12 Not much OTA-11 related news, images still undergoing testing. Currently we have two blockers in sight - one of which has a silo ready and in QA's hands. The second one seems a bit more problematic to solve [1] but the developers have an idea on how to proceed. Once both will land, we'll be re-spinning and handing the new images to QA.
