Re: [Ubuntu-phone] Bq screen

2016-04-04 Thread Mitchell Reese
Thanks Peter - are E5's even a thing anymore? Can't see them on the BQ
website... would love one. Looked into getting BQ to repair it for me -
was going to cost about $200 australian (aud) - at $250 aud new it's not
really worth it. (sigh) Will have to wait until the MX5 comes out...
bummer, as I was loving BQ's products. Have replaced multiple screens
before - not sure why this one was such a drama! Bummer after waiting 3
weeks to get one...

Catch you,

Mitchell

Drop your phone in the dust bin and have bq give you a new E5 for the
cost of shipping! Your odyssee is impossible, just feels like
something that makes you suffer with every single episode you watch!

bq, are you reading this? Stop this marketing nightmare and send a
free upgrade to Mitchell.

(Note, I am a happy E5 owner. No hardware issues for almost a year. I
of course have extra protection using an awesome FREITAG sleeve [1],
Made in Switzerland. May make a difference.)

Cheers, Peter

Differed issue than I thought - for some bizarre reason, the y axis seems to
be flipped... i.e., in order to unlock the phone (), I need to hit the
bottom left of the screen to recognise it as a touch input for the 1.
Doesn't seem to be anything I can manually reverse to make this happen.
Anyone with experience in this? Might call BQ later today...

Mitchell

Hey folks, trying to fix my bq 4.5 - finally received a new
screen/digitiser to fix the old one.

Have replaced it, and now touch input doesn't work properly - can only tap
a few points of the screen. Any idea how I can troubleshoot this? Assuming
the issue is my install, rather than a faulty digitiser, which I have no way
of checking.

On a side note, have been on Android the last few weeks - not a bad
experience, but the ui feels clunky when compared to my bq with Ubuntu. Even
with many things in touch still being implemented, the overall experience
for me in touch is much better than Android. Here's hoping I can fix my bq!
