Join Ubuntu Natty Beta 2 ISO Testing

2011-04-11 Thread Jean-Baptiste Lallement
Hi everyone!

Natty Beta 2 is due this week and the first candidates will be ready for
testing on the ISO tracker starting from Tuesday, 12. As usual we'll be
asking everyone on the QA team to participate in the image testing to
ensure we have good test coverage.

The procedures for testing ISO images and reporting results are
explained on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/ISO/Procedures

You can start syncing your ISOs so you are prepared when the Release
Team start posting images to the ISO tracker.

Test results will be tracked on http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/

You may have accounts on the tracker from last time. Please register if
you are new to this.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

We will coordinate testing in #ubuntu-testing on freenode. Please, go
there often to see what others are testing or what needs to be tested.

Thank you very much for your help and happy testing!

Hi Joseph,

I answer inline.

I can't seem to find a way to determine if I already registered for
ISO testing on that web page.
I have been trying for a while and finally seem to get far enough to
contribute.

If you have a LaunchPad login, you can access to the http://
http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qa.ubuntu.com.

However, when I want to access to http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/ I have to
use another login and another password.

You can create an account to upload your iso testing results at
http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/user/register

Later, I will try the new beta 2.

I have one machine that will boot from USB and install but not CD and
I have another that will boot from CD and install but not USB.

None of mine, incuding Virtual Box 3 (that comes with Maverick) will
install if I check update during install AND get 3rd party software.

I would really like to get those cataloged and on the list. Since I
can now get far enough to make some half way intelligent comments, I'm
ready.

BTW last confirmation of that behavior was with the daily-live from
2011-04-08.

I have already synchronized the ISOs. All of them from 2011-04-11.
Ubuntu Natty Desktop, Alternate, DVD, Server for i386.

To facilitate this download job, you can use testdrive.
https://launchpad.net/testdrive

Just type sudo apt-get install testdrive in a terminal.

2011-04-11 Thread Alexander Vinbæk Strand

Does someone knows when the 11.04 release is? And is 11.04 more stable than
10.10, because 10.10 is hanging when I login to my desktop every second time I
logged in!

it's in April 2011 ;-) specifically 28 April 2011.

As for stability, who knows... it depends a lot on hardware... it's
better on some systems than others. It seems to run fine on the two
Lenovo systems I have it on, but YMMV.
