Problem using zsync
Hello QA Team, I want to use zsync. After browsing the web for some more information, I understood that the iso file must be in the harddrive, namely the home folder, for zsync to work. So I placed a recently downloaded quantal image on my home folder and copy-pasted the command. But this came out as my output. john@thunderbolt:~$ zsync http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/20120819/quantal-desktop-amd64.iso.zsync cdimage.ubuntu.com: Connection timed out failed on url http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/20120819/quantal-desktop-amd64.iso.zsync could not read control file from URL http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/20120819/quantal-desktop-amd64.iso.zsync john@thunderbolt:~$ It failed to read control file. What have I done wrong? How can I make zsync work? Thanks. -- John Kim Ubuntu enthusiast lookjohn.com -- Ubuntu-qa mailing list Ubuntu-qa@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-qa
Re: Problem using zsync
As a very quick reply, they have been relocating the server. I've asked on the IRC channel to check if it is all completed. I'll go and try it out myself. regards, Phill. It is possible that the files on the server were broken at the time, also. 2012-08-18, the servers were down for while, that would also give this error. -- Charlie Kravetz Linux Registered User Number 425914 [http://counter.li.org/] Never let anyone steal your DREAM. Hi Charlie, I'm just on IRC with -release to see why the links from the iso tracker [1] are not working, they should have been back up by now. Re: Problem using zsync
Hi John, sunday evenings are not the best time to grab admin people. I'm in contact with IRC area. As soon as I have news, I will ensure it is posted to this list. Moving servers is not a fun task (I still bear the scars), please be patient. Thanks for flagging it up, we rely on you good people to alert the team to a problem. This seems like a glitch somewhere.
