Re: Cadence Week 8
you said it yourself, it's best to test on real hardware, but VMs are still good. On Wed, Mar 13, 2013 at 1:33 PM, Istimsak Abdulbasir wrote: > Thanks for the update. Thanks for the update. Is it best to test on bare metal, or VMs would do fine? Re: Cadence Week 8
Thought I'd reply to this to apologize for not updating the main cadence schedule page with the link below! Things should be set now. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/Cadence/Raring https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/Cadence/Raring/Week8 Sadly, we didn't get a test yet for startup disk creator, so no testing for that this week. The focus will be beta1 testing and testing of the normal daily images for ubuntu. Specifically, i would like to see some nice upgrade testing done especially via the live image by running through the installer. There is also a milestone on the packages tracker, which is blank. If things pan out, i would like to add a preview of testing the new ubuntu touch applications after beta1 is out. Getting the instructions and packages together is still a WIP, but fingers crossed. http://packages.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/260/builds Happy testing! Cadence Week 8
The next cadence week is almost here, starting Saturday March 9th. If the term seems new or unfamiliar to you, I'd encourage you to read this link for a background on what we're doing: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/Cadence. In short, as a community we're testing different things every 2 weeks in ubuntu, and sharing results to flesh out bugs and problem areas. This page will link you to all of the testcases focused for that week. Click the links to be taken to the appropriate testcases and submission form. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/Cadence/Raring/Week8 At the moment the test page is blank -- I'm open to suggestions as to what issues you all have seen that we should focus. I'd like to make special mention of upgrade testing, as well as the startup disk creator (but we need a testcase for this! https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-manual-tests/+bug/1132847).
