Re: call for testing: ipfs snap
Hello! IPFS 0.4.7 was released last week. I have just pushed it to the candidate channel. Sorry for the delay, I have been slacking a little here. If you have a few spare minutes, please help running the update tests to make sure we can push this version safely to the stable channel: https://gist.github.com/elopio/7492a28bd1aef6c4a86b5dcf5d5cb65b#file-ipfs-update-tests-md Let me know how it goes :) pura vida. -- ¡paz y baile! http://www.ubuntu.com -- Ubuntu-quality mailing list Ubuntu-quality@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-quality

Re: call for testing: ipfs snap
Hello! The v0.4.5-rc4 came and went during the weekend. And now the upstream ipfs developers have released 0.4.5. So it's time for a new thing: update testing :D 1. First, install the latest stable snap (0.4.4): $ sudo snap install ipfs 2. Run the smoke tests: https://gist.github.com/elopio/7492a28bd1aef6c4a86b5dcf5d5cb65b#smoke-tests-for-the-ipfs-snap 3. Close the browser and go back to the first terminal to stop the daemon with Ctrl+c. 4. Update to the candidate snap: $ sudo snap refresh ipfs --candidate 5. Run the smoke tests again. It's that simple! I'm sure you can tell by now how much I'm loving this, it has made my life so much simpler :) If you want to go crazy, try to revert to the previous version: sudo snap rollback ipfs In this new world we have backups of every installed app. We are now a little over 100 different testers for these snaps. I forgot to thank the people who have been reporting their results in the gist, I'm sorry about that. So thanks to: - freekert - urcminister - Carla Sella - David Paskevic <3 pura vida. -- Ubuntu-quality mailing list Ubuntu-quality@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-quality
Re: call for testing: ipfs snap
Hello! One more version bump and now ipfs v0.4.5-rc3 is in the candidate channel. Taking a quick look at the stats, I see that we are now close to 150 test installs of this snap. That is just awesome! Thanks a lot, again. <3 pura vida. -- Ubuntu-quality mailing list Ubuntu-quality@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-quality
Re: call for testing: ipfs snap
We are getting really close to a new stable release here :D ipfs v0.4.5-rc2 is now in the candidate channel. If somebody didn't catch the first message of this thread: $ sudo snap install ipfs --candidate getting started gist at: https://gist.github.com/elopio/7492a28bd1aef6c4a86b5dcf5d5cb65b#smoke-tests-for-the-ipfs-snap pura vida -- ¡paz y baile! http://www.ubuntu.com -- Ubuntu-quality mailing list Ubuntu-quality@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-quality
Re: call for testing: ipfs snap
Thank you Carla! Heads up everybody that I'm right now testing v0.4.5-rc1 on the beta channel, and I'll push it to candidate if I don't find anything bad. We are close to 100 downloads of the different versions I've pushed this month. That's a lot of tests from a lot of places! For those curious about the continuous delivery to the edge channel, it is all happening from automatically travis: https://github.com/elopio/ipfs-snap/blob/master/.travis.yml Next step for ipfs after the 0.4.5 release is to move the builds to launchpad to get snaps for all the architectures. And then we will need more hands to help testing in raspberrypi, beaglebone black and dragonboard :D pura vida -- Ubuntu-quality mailing list Ubuntu-quality@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-quality

Hello, I have installed ipfs snap without any problems on a VirtualBox Ubuntu Desktop 17.04 VM. The only strange thing is that in the webui on http://localhost:5001/webui there are no peers connected even it it's about 15 minutes that it's running. Ipfs swarm peers returns a lot of them instead. -- Carla Sella email:carla.se...@gmail.com http://about.me/carla.sellaon -- Ubuntu-quality mailing list Ubuntu-quality@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-quality
