Brian Murray:

Well, if there is a private crash report and apport marks another crash
a duplicate of the first private crash then it would be automatically
marked as Confirmed by Launchpad.

Okay: that is what I wanted to know. Thanks ;)

Depends on a series of factors. Usually the ones we -- *Ubuntu*
triagers -- are interested in will be accessible by members of the Bug
Control team.

Private bugs under different projects (in other words, *not* opened
against an Ubuntu package) will be accessible only to members of the
affected projects.

Security bugs that are opened private are only accessible by the
Security team.

In general, private bugs opened against an upstream project are only
accessible to project members.

Private Bugs in the Ubuntu packages namespace I believe are visible to Bug
Controllers under certain circumstances (for example crash bugs). Triage of
those involves removing the data that could contain private information and
then marking the bug as "Public", and there are times (in rare cases with the
nginx package because that's my targeted focus) where I've been able to confirm
a crash bug. Those are few and far between cases though.

Who can see private bugs?

Are private bugs automatically marked as confirmed under any circumstance?
