[Hardware Certification] Release Meeting 2012-05-25

2012-05-24 Thread Ara Pulido

=== What was done engineering wise? ===

Nothing to report

=== What's about to land that might impact the other teams and release
as a whole? ===

Nothing to report

=== Summary of bugs working on by team (reasonably reliable) ===

Nothing to report

=== Dependencies on other teams to make deliverables, blocking items,
release wide concerns? ===

Nothing to report

We haven't started testing Quantal yet, as we are still busy with
Precise certification.

We won't be participating in the meeting tomorrow. Let us know if you
have any questions.

Thanks!
Ara.

[Desktop]-team Release Meeting 2012-05-25

2012-05-24 Thread Sebastien Bacher

=== What was done engineering wise? ===

 * Catchup after UDS
 * Specs writing
 * Started quantal work, merges, some updates
 * Some SRUs for precise

=== What's about to land that might impact the other teams and release
as a whole? ===

 * Nothing specific out of the churns coming with Debian syncs and
merges at the start of the cycle. Some GNOME updates are planned but
they shouldn't impact much on others

=== Summary of bugs working on by team (reasonably reliable) ===

 * No specific list yet for quantal

=== Dependencies on other teams to make deliverables, blocking items,
release wide concerns? ===

 * Nothing to report

[Edubuntu] Release meeting 2012-05-25

2012-05-24 Thread Stéphane Graber
Hello,

=== What was done engineering wise? ===

 * Worked on work items list
 * Some work on porting the website to Drupal 7
 * Updated list of applications on the Edubuntu wiki pointing to the
12.04 entries of the web software center
 * Seed update, moving all the language packs except English to /pool
instead of the livefs and updated language-selector to be aware of
gcompris' sound packs.
 * Ongoing work on LTSP packaging, trying to reduce the delta with Debian

=== What's about to land that might impact the other teams? ===

 * We might be able to get an LTSP upload next week which will move some
dependencies around and move stuff between source packages, not
expecting any new dependency but might need some source/binary NEWing
and re-tetesting of LTSP on Ubuntu and Edubuntu.

=== Release Notes ===

=== Summary of bugs working on by team (reasonably reliable) ===

So far, nothing release critical has been identified.

=== Dependencies on other teams, blocking items? ===

Nothing.

=== Issues? ===

 * None.

[Kernel] Release Meeting 2012-05-25

2012-05-24 Thread Leann Ogasawara
Overall status is reported at the first link below. Burn down for
Quantal Alpha-1 is at the second link below. Burndown for the cycle is
at the third link:

 * https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeam/ReleaseStatus/Quantal
 *
http://status.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-quantal/canonical-kernel-distro-team-quantal-alpha-1.html
 *
http://status.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-quantal/canonical-kernel-distro-team.html

=== What was done engineering wise? ===
We've rebased the Quantal kernel to upstream v3.4 final and uploaded.
This upload also collapses the -virtual flavor, reinstates the i386
generic flavor, and transitions the i386 generic-pae flavor to the
generic flavor. We've also homogenized the entire linux-meta package and
removed the non-smp powerpc meta package as it was made obsolete in
Precise. We are above the trend line for our Alpha-1 burn down chart
and I suspect a few items will be deferred to the Alpha-2 milestone.

We've also got the 12.10 kernel for 12.04 available for testing. It can
be installed from the following PPA:

https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/q-lts-backport
https://launchpad.net/%7Eubuntu-x-swat/+archive/q-lts-backport

We welcome any early adopters to please install, test, and let us know
your feedback.

=== What's about to land that might impact the other teams and release
as a whole? ===
We anticipate the upstream v3.5-rc1 kernel to release relatively soon.
Being the first rc for the 3.5 series, I'd expect it to be less stable.
We would of course appreciate any testing and feedback once it is
uploaded and available.

=== Summary of bugs working on by team (reasonably reliable) ===
 * Bug:1003793 - broadcom wireless does not work with
quantal-backport-kernel

 * Bug:997774 - 12.10: Wifi is unstable, disconnect once a minute
 * Bug:1004101 - [RFE] Allow Bug Reporting When Running Backport Kernel

=== Dependencies on other teams to make deliverables, blocking items,
release wide concerns? ===

None at this time.

It needed some state changing so it would show up on the tracker
(it must be approved with a priority set), so I went ahead and tweaked
it.

Have also in and created:
https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/topic-quantal-flavor-lubuntu

and linked your blueprint to it. so it should be showing up on the
status.ubuntu.com site in the near future.

Let me know if you have questions, or it doesn't show up.

Thanks, Kate
