bashrc и цветной prompt

Приветствую!
Имеется bashrc по умолчанию, т.е не менялся ни разу после установки.
Понадобилось выделить prompt, дабы он выделялся. Но что-то у меня никак не
выходит. *Искомая строка* вроде имет мето быть, но она находится в рамках
действия  оператора условия:

xterm-color) color_prompt=yes;;
esac


if [ $color_prompt = yes ]; then
*PS1='${debian_chroot:+($debian_chroot)}\[\033[01;[EMAIL 
PROTECTED]:\[\033[01;34m\]\w\[\033[00m\]\$
