[Ubuntu-sdk-bugs] [Bug 1303746] [NEW] Performance hit when editing sorted lists
Public bug reported: We first noticed this after the migration to Qt 5.2 and using the Reminders app: in summary, when editing a note the application becomes unresponsive on the phone and the CPU goes to 100% on the desktop (there it's not too noticeable). After a chat with mzanetti, this is related to an upstream patch that should have probably been implemented differently, and it's now reported in the upstream tracker [1]. This will affect every app using a sorted list on the phone [1] https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTBUG-37983 ** Affects: reminders-app Importance: Critical Status: Triaged ** Affects: qtdeclarative-opensource-src (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: reminders-app Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: reminders-app Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: reminders-app Importance: Undecided => Critical -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu SDK bug tracking, which is subscribed to qtdeclarative-opensource-src in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1303746 Title: Performance hit when editing sorted lists Status in Ubuntu Reminders app: Triaged Status in “qtdeclarative-opensource-src” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: We first noticed this after the migration to Qt 5.2 and using the Reminders app: in summary, when editing a note the application becomes unresponsive on the phone and the CPU goes to 100% on the desktop (there it's not too noticeable). [Ubuntu-sdk-bugs] [Bug 1290121] Re: Move selectedTabIndex to tabs model
This bug was fixed in the package ubuntu-ui-toolkit - 0.1.46+14.04.20140404.1-0ubuntu1 --- ubuntu-ui-toolkit (0.1.46+14.04.20140404.1-0ubuntu1) trusty; urgency=low [ tpeeters ] * Move the property to keep track of the selected tab to the tabs model. (LP: #1290121) -- Ubuntu daily releaseFri, 04 Apr 2014 15:08:22 + ** Changed in: ubuntu-ui-toolkit (Ubuntu) Status: New => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu SDK bug tracking, which is subscribed to ubuntu-ui-toolkit in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1290121 Title: Move selectedTabIndex to tabs model Status in Ubuntu UI Toolkit: In Progress Status in “ubuntu-ui-toolkit” package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: Code from Tabs.qml: property alias selectedTabIndex: bar.selectedIndex There is also some checking of the model inside TabBar.qml. This is not good because we do not want Tabs to depend on the TabBar. For upcoming changes (TabBar will be deprecated eventually, but for now we will give the app developers the option to choose between the "old" TabBar, and a new way to display the tabs), I want to load the TabBar inside a Loader only when it is needed. So some code may need to be moved from TabBar to Tabs, and the alias listed above must be removed. Update: unity8 uses the tabbar (and will use the tabs drawer in the header) without the Tabs, so we decided to move the selected tab index to the model instead of the Tabs.
