Yes, we had several problems (seg faults, loops, ...) terminating everything in Qt in the right order. In your traceback, it appeared that you had just entered something into an edit box when it failed. Perhaps you entered "quit". > > I use bat 1.0 in combination with bacula director version 1.36 (Debian > Sarge). I'm quite surprised that bat works at all with a Bacula Director version 1.36. The first Director, with which bat works is 2.2.0 -- this is because we added a lot of new console GUI support between version 2.0.x and 2.2.0. In fact, bat can be successfully used only with the Director with which it was shipped because we are still enhancing the console API. To have a supported bat, you really need to move up to a 2.2.x version, which may be a bit of a pain as there were at least 2 Bacula database upgrades in between ... [Bug 215998] Re: possible memory leak in Hardy's squid
Discussed at length with Matthew on IRC. Additionally, I created a Hardy-i386 virtual machine with 512MB of memory and was not able to reproduce the crashes or even memory leaks. In summary, it's perfectly normal for all of memory to end up in the "cached" column of "free", as cached memory is essentially free memory, as the Linux kernel will quickly swap data out of cache as necessary [1]. Furthermore, the perceived "crashes" of the Hardy system may well have been the effects of the machine "swapping itself to death". My testing of Squid did not reveal any memory leaks. And Matthew seems to have chased down a problem in some other code: a mysql query in Koha (the library software) that contains an "and" has the url formated as containing "+and+". This seemed to cause a loop. [Bug 214714] Re: Upgrading to Hardy destroyed my network shares and when I try to recreate them I get this long complicated error message
Clarification, by adding "usershare owner only = False" I'm now able to create new shares again even on my NTFS external harddrive. Of course all my original shares I had on this disk are permanently deleted by the upgrade process. I understand the security implication and agree that the proper fix is not to add "usershare owner only = False" to smb.conf by default. Ideally, files on NTFS USB external hard drives should be mounted as owned by my user account instead of root:root (this would enable me to create network shares for folders on external USB harddrives with NTFS without resorting to sub-par security). ** Changed in: samba (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- Upgrading to Hardy destroyed my network shares and when I try to recreate them I get this long complicated error message https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/214714 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 217159] Re: slapd + gnutls fails
Thank you for reporting this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. I am able to use TLS with slapd without any problems, but one thing I had to adjust was to give the openldap user access to the directory containing the certificate and key. I placed my cert in /etc/ssl/certs, and the key in /etc/ssl/private. Since the /etc/ssl/private directory's group ownership is ssl-cert I executed: sudo adduser openldap ssl-cert Then restarted slapd, and everything worked fine using the configuration example you posted above (but with different directories). I'm using a self-singed cert and CA cert. Can you double check that the openldap user has access to your cert directory? Also another thing to try is adding the following to /etc/ldap/ldap.conf: TLS_REQCERT never Then restart slapd and see if you can connect. Ok, I archived enlightment! ;-) As far as I understand (by taking a quick look at the code), they only introduced a new type because the domain search list is compressed using a special technique described in RFC1035. This technique uses pointers to prior occurrences. In the RFC3397 using the techique is a MUST, but because it only saves space it works without using it too. In the configuration file and the resolv.conf file it's always a string. I will try to use the 3.1 release of the dhcp3-client and we will see, if this solves my problems. Thanks for the hint!
