In investigating another issue, I came across this bug. The patch for http://lists.mysql.com/commits/15001 is dependent upon the patches for http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=8804. 8804 does not apply cleanly and probably requires at least one additional patch that needs to be identified. [Bug 217964] [NEW] apache2.conf missing many language encodings
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: apache2 Our apache2.conf has a few languages defined with AddLanguage, however, it does not cover the full ISO-639-1 list of languages (e.g. Finnish - fi - is missing). According to RFC2616 (HTTP/1.1 specification, 1999), the content of the Accept-Language header is that of RFC1766 (Tags for the Identification of Languages, 1995), which refers to ISO-639 as a source of language codes, so it seems reasonable to list all of the codes. As for 3 character codes, the specs are not clear. Although the W3C's FAQ[0] does suggest that a later RFC, 3066, should be given attention when dealing with this HTTP field, the older RFC1766 pre-dates ISO 639-2. Whether or not 3 character codes should be included for languages with no 2 character code, using the MultiViews feature on Dapper may produce confusing/broken results. [Bug 217159] Re: slapd + gnutls fails
... but TLS_REQCERT never in the client confs helps, but makes me wonder: $ man ldap.conf TLS_REQCERT never The client will not request or check any server certificate. This probably should not be the case. Previously has worked, which is still a bit dubious. allow The server certificate is requested. If no certificate is provided, the session proceeds normally. If a bad certificate is provided, it will be ignored and the session proceeds normally. Is there any way to make it work with for example? This is not a major thing and thanks for your help, in pointing out the obvious problem. :) Shouldn't trust and old config, I guess. :) For the sake of documentation here are the client confs: $ cat /etc/ldap/ldap.conf # # LDAP Defaults # # See ldap.conf(5) for details # This file should be world readable but not world writable. URI ldaps://127.0.0.1/ BASE dc=nnn,dc=nnn TLS_REQCERT never $ cat /etc/ldap.conf base dc=nnn,dc=nnn uri ldaps://127.0.0.1/ timelimit 120 bind_timelimit 120 idle_timelimit 3600 ssl on pam_password exop bind_policy soft TLS_CACERTFILE /etc/pki/tls/certs/ca.nnn.nnn.crt TLS_REQCERT never Any comments on those? I've also dabbled with the nss_initgroups_ignoreusers parameter, but don't have any conclusive results on that. -- slapd + gnutls fails https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/217159 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openldap2.3 in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 217159] Re: slapd + gnutls fails
That was the first thing I stumbled upon, so I don't think it's that. Slapd won't start if it can't read the pki files. I've adjusted the apparmor profile as follows: $ cat usr.sbin.slapd # vim:syntax=apparmor # Last Modified: Fri Jan 4 15:18:13 2008 # Author: Jamie Strandboge <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> #include /usr/sbin/slapd { #include #include #include /etc/local/pki/tls/certs/ca.nnn.nnn.crt r, /etc/local/pki/tls/certs/ldap.nnn.nnn.crt r, /etc/local/pki/tls/private/ldap.nnn.nnn.key r, /etc/sasldb2 r, capability dac_override, capability net_bind_service, capability setgid, capability setuid, /etc/gai.conf r, /etc/hosts.allow r, /etc/hosts.deny r, /etc/ldap/ldap.conf r, /etc/ldap/schema/* r, /etc/ldap/slapd.conf r, # the databases and logs /var/lib/ldap/ r, /var/lib/ldap/* rw, # lock file /var/lib/ldap/alock kw, # pid files and sockets /var/run/slapd/* w, /usr/lib/ldap/ r, /usr/lib/ldap/* mr, /usr/sbin/slapd mr, } -- slapd + gnutls fails https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/217159 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openldap2.3 in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

I can't this to work either. [Bug 158341] [NEW] Samba is still a pain in kubuntu
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Despite all the other samba discussions going on in general and in gnome, the kubuntu-desktop should simply download and install the samba server, when sharing a folder is request, hence it doenst violate the ubuntu no open ports rules. Also using security should remain user, as I certainly do not intend to share with anyone whos on the net, i refrain from using smbpasswd in console, so there should be a sweet and simple tool to set up samba passwords and useraccounts, making sharing less a pain than it is right now. Ive seen all the described above working like a charm in other distributions, though it shouldnt be to hard to adopt it. ** Affects: samba (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Samba is still a pain in kubuntu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/158341 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 217137] [NEW] Hardy Heron: Nautilus fails to open directory with more than 140 subfolders
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I was browsing my workplace's SMB server (Windows 2003 Small Business Server) and when trying to open any folder that had more than 140 sub- folders in it Nautilus would fail with an 'Invalid Argument' error. Please note, 140 is not a special number.
