[Bug 214556] Re: [Hardy] Can't share files
I found this post: http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/ubuntu-help/118877 -samba-hardy.html - and when I did what they did and replaced my smb.conf with a skeleton one it did work properly, which suggests that there is an error in the way that Ubuntu handles the Samba conf file. Just to clarigy, I haven't touched anything to do with Samba until I had this error. I'm running the 64 bit version of hardy, dunno if that makes a difference. -- [Hardy] Can't share files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/214556 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 214556] Re: [Hardy] Can't share files
I have the same problem. Nothing complex, I simply create a new folder, share it (right click -> sharing options) with all the boxes ticked, but the share isn't there. Permissions are correct, I'm in the sambashare group etc. Using up to date Hardy Heron 8.04 LTS. As a temporary fix you can simply symlink to libWand.so.10 and libMagick.so.10, nothing dramatic changed between imagemagick 9 and 10. sudo ln -s libWand.so.10 libWand.so.9 sudo ln -s libMagick.so.10 libMagick.so.9 -- PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php5/20060613/imagick.so' - libWand.so.9 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/203023 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is a bug assignee. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 217984] Re: Totem exits fullscreen mode when playing from Samba share
Digging a bit deeper... Fullscreening mpeg and avi files run from the Desktop started crashing once I had reloaded the test workstation with the release version of Hardy. However, I just discovered: http://tombuntu.com/index.php/2008/03/25/toggle-compiz-with-fusion-icon-in-ubuntu-804/ and used such switched back to Metacity. {test environment} Cleanly rebooted workstation, fire up the toggle applet, verify Metacity is selected, reload the window manager with the same applet... then and only then does drag and drop between windows in the Workspace Switcher resume working, therefor I think I can safely assume Metacity is the active window manager. {result} Can full screen mpeg / avi videos without a crash!!! Re: [Bug 226405] [NEW] Missing support for upsmon only configuration (slave)
you have probably missed /etc/default/nut and reading /usr/share/doc/nut/README.Debian. but you're right that providing a nut-client package would help slave config... and that's what I've in mind for long (scheduled for Nut Packaging Standard and nut 2.4). -- Missing support for upsmon only configuration (slave) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/226405 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to nut in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 204479] Re: PHP should be shipped with magic_quotes_gpc = Off in php.ini
Ubuntu ships with version < PHP6, and it's likely that before 8.10 there will be no PHP6, so this is an issue. I reiterate my point. Novice developers will learn PHP with bad configuration, they won't (or badly) escape variables = create security holes in their applications. Other developers will simply edit php.ini after fresh install. To fix this bug by yourself it's very easy, but it's Important that Ubuntu offer good packages by default. [Bug 226495] [NEW] bind9 boot priority needs to be changed
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: bind9 On startup, bind9 would start before the NetworkManager DHCP, causing it to 'bind' (sorry for the pun) to the loopback interface. After bootup, I could fix this by restarting the bind9 service. That's annoying, so I changed the boot priority to 91 with bum. Could someone integrate this into the package? [Bug 226405] [NEW] Missing support for upsmon only configuration (slave)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nut There should be a package to support slave only devices. As of now the package takes for granted that the computer using upsmon is also the one with the ups connected (so the scripts doesn't work if upsd and upsdrvctl aren't configured) while this could be not the case (in my case it's connected to a server using a low amount of power which dispatches informations about the ups status to other connected computers). So there is no way to get upsmon to auto start without doing big editing of the init.d script (or making them from scratch which is maybe even easier). ubuntu 8.04 hardy heron package 2.2.1-2.1ubuntu7 A secondary package with only upsmon would be the ideal but if not possible / not willing to do it making the init script launch upsmon even if upsd / upsdrvctl failed would be good enough (at least for me) thanks :) ** Affects: nut (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Missing support for upsmon only configuration (slave) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/226405 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to nut in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
