[Bug 134716] Re: Mount with smbfs treats symlinks invalid

2008-05-12 Thread Andrew
I was able to follow symlinks once I used the nounix option in the cifs
mount.

BUT it's still not clear to me what the "right" way to follow symlinks
is when unix extensions is turned on.

[Bug 160594] Re: dhclient not responding to received DHCP offers

2008-05-12 Thread LKRaider
I've had the same problem, but only when the server is dhcp3-server,
then on my laptop I can only receive the dhcp configuration through the
pump application (running Hardy Heron).

Gateway Aspire 5570z
03:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM94311MCG wlan mini-PCI (rev
01)
(using ndiswrapper)

My iPhone was also having problems getting a lease from the
dhcp3-server, eventually getting a connection.

I solved the issues installing the dhcp (version 2.0pl5-19.5ubuntu2.2)
package on my server (running Feisty Fawn).

[Bug 217137] Re: Hardy Heron: Nautilus fails to open directory with more than 140 subfolders

2008-05-12 Thread undfined
Workaround, mount via cifs:

In my case, I was trying to open my music folder on my Win2K3 server and
getting the error. I worked around this by mounting the windows share
to my Music folder in my Home directory.

sudo mount -t cifs //192.168.10.100/music ~/Music -o
username=windows.username,password="mypassword",iocharset=utf8,file_mode=0777,dir_mode=0777

Of course, you'll need to edit the command to your situation.

[Bug 224945] Re: memory leaks in apache2 when running mod_ssl

2008-05-12 Thread Dustin Kirkland
Upstream bug filed with Apache:
https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=44975

They suggested applying this patch:
http://svn.apache.org/viewvc?view=rev&revision=654119

Test packages available in my PPA.

This patch fixes half of the problem. It solves the out-of-memory
errors, however, SSL connections are simply dropped when the server is
flooded. Note that Feisty's apache2+mod_ssl is able to handle the flood
on both the client and server without errors.

[Bug 211631] Re: CIFS/SMBFS issue (was not resolved on #207441)

2008-05-12 Thread Max-Ulrich Farber
I agree with flaccid: This perpetuating and ennoying bug should be fixed
as soon as possible!

That has even become more important with Hardy, since "smbfs" does not
exist as a workaround any more, "smbmount" being nothing more than a
wrapper for "mount.cifs".

The simple solution proposed in the link quoted by flaccid is the same
as what I mentionned above, changing the shutdown-sequence. Would please
an expert have a look at this to make sure it cannot cause other
troubles!

[Bug 228712] Re: Feature request: add patch to enable crypted passwords

2008-05-12 Thread kbe
Hi Philipp,

since I'm not familiar with dpatch or debdiff (or any aspects of the
debian build system), I made the changes manually. I'm attaching a diff
of cyrus-sasl2_2.1.22.dfsg1-18ubuntu2.diff that includes all the changes
I made.

This is basically all there is to it:

- lib/Makefile.in: Add "-lcrypt" to line 185:
  LIBS = -lcrypt @LIBS@
I added this patch to lib/Makefile.in.diff

- lib/Makefile.am: Add "$(LIB_CRYPT)" to line 65
  libsasl2_la_LIBADD = $(LTLIBOBJS) $(SASL_DL_LIB) $(LIB_SOCKET) $(LIB_DOOR)
$(LIB_CRYPT)
This was added to debian/patches/0001_versioned_symbols.dpatch.diff because
that file is taking care of lib/Makefile.am anyway

- debian/patches/00list.diff: Add a line to include new file
0021_crypted_passwords.dpatch.diff

- debian/patches/0021_crypted_passwords.dpatch.diff: New file that
includes all changes made to lib/checkpw.c

Obviously, it would be nicer if all patches were in a single file, but I
couldn't figure that out :-)

Karsten

[Bug 211631] Re: CIFS/SMBFS issue (was not resolved on #207441)

2008-05-12 Thread flaccid

/unmount-samba-filesystems-before-shutdown-or-reboot/

I believe there are also duplicate bugs.
