[Bug 239704] Re: slapd fails to upgrade if included schema files are no longer available

2008-06-16 Thread Mathias Gug
I think that missing schema files should lead to a failed upgrade.

If we'd allow the upgrade to succeed, the resulting configuration would
be wrong and slapd won't start anyway. Commenting out the missing schema
is not a good option as it would break the client applications (and
slapd won't probably start as it doesn't know about some parts of the
ldap objects stored in the database).

However this use case should be be improved when we're migrating to the
cn=config backend.

[Bug 240519] [NEW] sybase_* functions missing in php5-sybase for hardy

2008-06-16 Thread Paul McLanahan
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: php5

When trying to run php programs on hardy server that use the sybase_*
php functions, I get the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function sybase_connect()

The sybase_* functions should be installed via the php5-sybase package,
but instead only the mssql_* functions are installed. I realize that
they are merely aliases to one another, but according to the php5
documentation, the mssql functions are aliases to the sybase ones. So if
one set needs to go away, it would make more sense to get rid of the
mssql rather than the sybase functions, especially considering the name
of the package.

The error is seen when using php5 from the cli or through apache2.

My package version: php5-sybase 5.2.4-2ubuntu5.1

The patch looks good.

In order to get it uploaded to hardy, it needs to get through the SRU
process: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates.

Could you provide a test case that demonstrates what is failing in hardy
?

Before uploading for hardy-proposed, the version in intrepid needs to be
fixed (the patch has been accepted by Debian in 2.42-3).

[Bug 237894] Re: I cannot connect to any server. Conection hangs up at "channel 0: open confirm rwindow 0 rmax 32768"

2008-06-16 Thread Gabriel Petchesi
I replace also the in-kernel driver with ndiswrapper and now everything looks
fine.
I checked also the page regarding the kernel driver
http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/b43#supported and the model I have
(BCM 4310 Rev 1) does not appear in the supported list. Strangely it worked
(sort of).

2008-06-16 Thread David
Chuck, you're using 'EOT' as heredoc start/end identifier, which is not
included in the contents of string $a as you defined it.

With the following example (your code, modified) I get a syntax error:

Obviously it's valid code (afaik) and it works OK on other non-ubuntu
PHP5 servers.

[Bug 240387] [NEW] php5-ldap TLS (start_tls) quirks

2008-06-16 Thread Martin Adler
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: php5-ldap

After switching from gentoo i386 to ubuntu hardy 8.04 x64, using the
same configuration (of course adapted to the new host system), any PHP
script that wants to issue a startTLS behaves unpredicatebly. Best
example is phpLDAPadmin which at times lets you login and edit a record
without a problem and on updating the tree fails with the usual PHP
error message about not being able to start TLS. At other times, it does
not even let me login.

All other services, be it authnz-ldap, libnss-ldap, libpam-ldap work
without a flaw. I come to suspect the the php5-ldap module itself has a
bug (maybe only x64 related).

I am unable to get good debug output out of the module so if you have
some advice on how to receive this, I would be happy to post it along
with this report.

[Bug 240353] [NEW] Can not add user/macine accounts to Samba PDC if the "ldap idmap alloc" backend is used

2008-06-16 Thread Heiko
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: winbind

The winbind Package (3.0.28a) that Ubuntu 8.04 uses has a Bug,
so the LDAP idmap alloc Backend (ldapsam:trusted = yes, ldapsam:editposix =
yes) is unusable.
I configured Samba as it is described on
http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Ldapsam_Editposix
With 3.0.28a you get the Error "NT_STATUS_INVALID_PRIMARY_GROUP" if you try to
add an User or Machine Account.
In the winbind log files you can see, that winbind fails to get the UID or GID
of a SID. With the same configuration and Samba 3.0.30 all is fine
(I tried it with the Debian Lenny Packages). Karolin Seeger from Sernet GmbH
confirmed that this was a Bug in 3.0.28a.

I think that should be fixed in Ubuntu 8.04 especially that this Version is a
LTS-Version.
With this Bug it is only possible to set up a PDC when the old smbldap-tools
method is used.

IMHO it is a bug in both.
- GnuTLS is a library and therefore should not do fprintf(stderr,..) + exit,
because printing to stderr isn't useful for a postfix child
- Postfix does not provide /dev/u?random in the chroot, triggering the issue.

I don't recall the exact history, and Arjen will soon be on paternity
vacation, so I don't want to bother him too much. But it seems you found the
solution.

To validate this, you can try the sid package:
http://packages.debian.org/sid/nut

only x86 and amd64 are available ATM.

So I guess the end result is: this bug may be fixed in the upstream,
> but ubuntu doesn't have the fix in yet? I also noticed that intrepid is
