[Bug 271254] Re: drbd doesn't start: No response from the DRBD driver! Is the module loaded? but module is loaded

2008-09-19 Thread Heiko
Ok, I tested your package drbd8-utils_8.2.6-0ubuntu1~ppa1_amd64.deb, but the
behavior is the same. I get the same error messages as previous.
In addition:
cat /proc/drbd
version: 8.2.6 (api:88/proto:86-88)
GIT-hash: 3e69822d3bb4920a8c1bfdf7d647169eba7d2eb4 build by [EMAIL PROTECTED],
2008-05-30 12:59:17

Is there an incompatibility between drbd and Kernel 2.6.27?

On the Machine where I test intrepid is Kernel 2.6.27-3-server running. It is
an amd64 Machine with 16 Cores (4 Quad-Opterons) and 64GB RAM.
Does drbd run on i386? I do not have the possibility to test that.

[Bug 231060] Re: packages dnsmasq and libvirt-bin conflict with each other

2008-09-19 Thread Thierry Carrez
The problem is not really in libvirt, which calls dnsmasq with the
appropriate settings to limit itself to the right interface. It's in
dnsmasq, which by default binds to all interfaces, thus preventing the
dnsmasq-from-libvirt from serving its addresses.

I tend to agree with Soren and Neal : yes, that's a conflict
configuration case (like if you install two web servers that try to run
on the same port), and yes, since it's not that obvious that libvirt
runs a DHCP server, we should try to make the potential problem (and
solution) more discoverable by documentation.

[Bug 272060] [NEW] Missing DDNS update when a domain is joined

2008-09-19 Thread Thierry Carrez
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: likewise-open

When current Likewise-Open is used to join an Active Directory domain, no
dynamic DNS update is triggered. It is normal behavior for an Active Directory
domain member to update the Active Directory DNS on domain join (supported
DNS servers include Windows 2000 SP4 and later).

[Bug 272132] [NEW] Likewise Open starts at S20, then at S92 when a domain is joined

2008-09-19 Thread Thierry Carrez
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: likewise-open

When installed, Likewise-Open installs initscripts and starts at S20.
When a domain is joined, this is modified and Likewise-Open starts at S92.

Likewise-Open should install directly at (whatever is) the right position and
never remodify to avoid confusion.
NB: Apparently at S20 it doesn't work, always fails to contact domain.

[Bug 272134] [NEW] [FFe] Update to 4.1.2982 bugfix microrelease

2008-09-19 Thread Thierry Carrez
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: likewise-open

Likewise-Open 4.1.2982 is available. It is a bugfix-only microrelease
that includes the following fixes:

 * Fix bug in Windows 2008 domain joins caused by disabling Kerberos
authenticaiton in the SMBsessionsetup.
 * Ensure that nss_lwidentity always sets errno to ENOENT when returning
NSS_UNAVAIL
 * Fix a race condition in winbind leading to a crash (from Samba codebase,
patch from Volker Lendecke)
 * winbindd_cache: recognize and allow longer UA keys (from Samba codebase,
patch from Holger Hetterich)
 * Fix premature exit logic check when expanding nested domain group membership

Relevant upstream microrelease diffstats :
 samba/source/VERSION | 2
 samba/source/configure | 3
 samba/source/configure.in | 4
 samba/source/include/version.h | 4
 samba/source/lib/interface.c | 9 ++
 samba/source/libsmb/cliconnect.c | 12 --
 samba/source/nsswitch/wb_common.c | 20
 samba/source/winbindd/winbindd_cache.c | 11 +-
 samba/source/winbindd/winbindd_dual.c | 7 -
 samba/source/winbindd/winbindd_group.c | 2

Note that we'll also use this opportunity to fix bug 272060 (missing
DDNS updates on domain joins) and bug 24 (Gnome session blowup on
domain join), and bug 272132 (joining a domain changes initscript from
S20 to S92).

Thanks in advance
