Tomasz, Thanks for the suggestion. It worked. My Windows shares become available immediately after my wireless connections start. Your machine resolves pc-chiara as 195.210.87.131 so it's quite normal that samba cannot connect to it. You probably can't ping it either. Re: [Bug 366294] Re: package mysql-server-5.0 5.1.30really5.0.75-0ubuntu10 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess pre-installation script killed by signal (Broken pipe)
Mysql had already been installed. I don't know why I got the failed install message. Since Mysql was already configured, I opted NOT to use dbconfig-common to configure the settings. Then I got the error. Late last night I did a purge remove of phpmyadmin and repeated the process ACCEPTING to have dbconfig-common configure the settings. That fixed it. Thanks for the quick reply, nice to see that. I hope the previous information helps. I take it you opted to use dbconfig-common to configure your database settings? Do you remember the answers you gave and the responses you got? Also, the last respons I can see in the attached DpkgTerminalLog.txt looks like a failed attempt to install/setup a MySQL-server?
