[Bug 311350] Re: Auto mount of windows shares doesn't work.

2009-04-26 Thread Tom
Tomasz,

Thanks for the suggestion. It worked. My Windows shares become available
immediately after my wireless connections start.

I had one extra line in my /etc/network/interfaces:

auto eth0

After commenting it a rebooting to test my shares became active again
automatically. I don't pretend to understand what that one line did and
why commenting / removing it would make a difference but after many
months in now works like it did in 8.04. I'm now running 9.04.

[Bug 350291] Re: Samba cannot resolv ip

2009-04-26 Thread Thierry Carrez
Your machine resolves pc-chiara as 195.210.87.131 so it's quite normal
that samba cannot connect to it. You probably can't ping it either. This
is not a samba bug, more an issue in configuration of your name
resolution... You should be able to work around the issue by adding pc-
chiara in your /etc/hosts file ?

During the install of phpmyadmin you should have been asked a few
question. I take it you opted to use dbconfig-common to configure your
database settings? Do you remember the answers you gave and the
responses you got?

Also, the last respons I can see in the attached DpkgTerminalLog.txt
looks like a failed attempt to install/setup a MySQL-server? Was that
something you did before the apt-get install phpmyadmin?

2009-04-26 Thread Andreas Olsson
Yeah, those files might have helped :) Just not sure if the archive was
gzip'd...

Don't think this is a generic problem. I installed squid on a fresh
8.10, did a do-release-upgrade to Jaunty, and Squid was still working.
Of course, that was with only the default configuration.

Looking in your /var/log/dist-upgrade/term.log I see quite a few
attempts to access the non-existent path /null. At one occasion it
happens right next to your subprocess post-installation script
returned error exit status 1.

Can you find anything in your squid configuration which would explain
why the upgrade would want to access /null?

2009-04-26 Thread Jim Frey
Mysql had already been installed. I don't know why I got the failed install
message. Since Mysql was already configured, I opted NOT to use
dbconfig-common to configure the settings. Then I got the
error.

Late last night I did a purge remove of phpmyadmin and repeated the
process ACCEPTING to have dbconfig-common configure the settings. That
fixed it.

Thanks for the quick reply, nice to see that. I hope the previous
information
helps.
