[Bug 367751] [NEW] irqstats is confused by 2.6.24 /proc/interrupts
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: munin This is basically just copying http://bugs.debian.org/cgi- bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=463721 The irqstats plugin cannot handle the new /proc/interrupts format and emits warnings on every run: Argument shootdowns isn't numeric in addition (+) at /etc/munin/plugins/irqstats line 62, $in line 18. Since Hardy (LTS!) ships with linux-image-2.6.24, this (cosmetic) bug could be worth fixing. [Bug 367769] [NEW] freeradius init script not consistent with radiusd.conf
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: freeradius I'm running the latest stable, Ubuntu 9.04. I installed the package freeradius and freeradius-mysql, along with its dependencies. It took me 8 hours to figure out why freeradius was not working! I kept getting following errors: Failed binding to socket: Address already in use /etc/freeradius/radiusd.conf[236]: Error binding to port for 0.0.0.0 port 1812 r...@delta:/etc/freeradius# /etc/init.d/freeradius stop * Stopping FreeRADIUS daemon freeradius * /var/run/freeradius/freeradius.pid not found... This made me think that freeradius was not running, and I wasn't able to start it since the port was already in use, but could not figure out where. Eventually, I noticed that /etc/freeradius/radiusd.conf was using /var/run/radiusd/radiusd.pid, while the init script was using /var/run/freeradius/freeradius.pid I changed the radiusd.conf file to use /var/run/freeradius/freeradius.pid, which resolved the issue. I guess this will be an easy one to fix. Am kicking myself for not having noticed it sooner! The package version is 2.1.0+dfsg-0ubuntu4. ** Affects: freeradius (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: freeradius -- freeradius init script not consistent with radiusd.conf https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/367769 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to freeradius in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 97513] Re: squid starts before resolv.conf is populated
Hi guys, here my scenario: I have a local transparent squid and dansguardian for content filtering issues working. I was not able to reproduce this bug in Intrepid. I started my Laptop and it worked. I established a VPN connection with the Gnome Network manager and Squid reloaded automatically. So I was able to use the new nameserver. But now I upgraded to Jaunty. Since then, I have to reload squid manually as soon as my network connection is established. When I establish my VPN connection, my /etc/resolv.conf is modified and squid does handle no more connections, even if I reload squid! This is horrible for me. Is this a misconfiugration from my side? In Intrepid, everything worked out. Or is this not even a whishlist, but a bug? [Bug 348126] Re: ssh are using ssh-userauth but ignores private key
I can reproduce the behavior reported by rancor, but using an RSA 1023-bit key. I have never had problems with ssh-agent before I upgraded to Jaunty. I can still login using ssh -i mykey, but never with ssh- agent. When I tried to generate a new RSA 2048-bit key, ssh-agent worked without a problem for it. However, when I generated a 1023-bit key by using ssh-keygen -b 1023, ssh-agent fails again. I am attaching an example key (without a passphrase). It would be great if someone can confirm the problem for this key. ** Attachment added: rsa1023 http://launchpadlibrarian.net/26037472/rsa1023 -- ssh are using ssh-userauth but ignores private key https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/348126 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openssh in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Blueprint groupware-server] Groupware Server
Blueprint changed by Art Cancro: Whiteboard changed to: 2006-12+21 khaeru: might this be handled by the ubuntu-server-tasks spec? é 21/12/2006 - I think we should pick an existing suite, i.e. hula and then create the ubiquitous middleware to achieve what we want 13/07/2007 (stephan-impilinux) - We have recently evaluated a load of these solutions and have some professional experience in it. 2008-06-07 (pixelpapst) - Just a quick reminder that the hula project ist effectively dead since late 2006, and the community created a fork called bongo project. However, by now they ripped out all of Hula's LDAP connectivity, which makes this a very pretty but useless solution for SmallBusinessServer. 2008-06-08 (Guy Van Sanden) Citadel seems a very good choice. IT offers many features (including a Jabber server) and is completely GPL'ed. The only caveat is that it does not have LDAP support (yet) 2008-06-19 (Art Cancro) -- yes, definitely go with Citadel. Ubuntu packages are already being maintained, and the project would be delighted to cooperate with the Ubuntu team on integration issues. 2008-06-19 (Todd Hanna) I would also like to give a big +1 to Citadel. They already have the .debs and there is even a connector to use it as an Exchange replacement if you have clients using Outlook. I have run it without issue on Ubuntu server since version 6.06. It's head and shoulders above the rest at the moment.. and it is easy to setup, update, and maintain. 2008-07-08 (Stuart Cianos) - I'll also give major points to Citadel, and have been a longtime user of it. It is the only open-source groupware package that is self maintaining and straightforward to configure. 2008-07-09 (Stephan Buys) - Please also dont forget Kolab (Citadel implements the Kolab v1 format). Kolab has 3 plugins for Outlook, support Horde Webmail, Thunderbird/Lightning and Kontact. 2008-07-09 (Guy Van Sanden) RE Kolab - Kolab is not a full groupware AFAIK, it does not have a web interface. Correct me if I'm wrong. 2008-07-09 (Christian Merlin) Remember also SOGo (http://sogo.opengroupware.org/) it use LDAP for users and PostgreSQL for database. So It could be easy to integrate with Ebox (http://ebox- platform.com/). So Ubuntu can became an'easy and powerfull groupware server like the commercial one. 2008-07-10 (Stephan Buys) Kolab does have a web interface (for admin and email) through Horde (www.horde.org). Calendars, Contacts and Tasks can be shared between Outlook/Kontact/Horde/Thunderbird 2008-07-10 - Personally I prefer bongo, however it is still in its infancy. It has a great UI, and is targeted at being simple to install and use 2008-11-14 - (Guy Van Sanden) Zarafa is becoming an option too. It was AGPL'd recently and offers many features including CalDAV in the upcoming 6.30 release. 2008-11-14 - (Stuart Cianos) Only the server-side components of Zarafa were opened up... There are still numerous proprietary functions that are unavailable in the AGPL version. There are plenty of completely open solutions out there (Horde, Citadel, Kolab, etc.) Personally, I use Citadel (with Funambol for push e-mail) due to its funtionality, reliability, speed and flexibility... They also have a fantastic developer/user community that is supportive and communicative. 2008-11-15 - (Guy Van Sanden) @Stuart Cianos Actually most of it seems to be in the AGPL version except for the client license required for Outlook usage. Which is logical, if you are paying for closed source outlook you should also pay for the connector... I know about citadel, have been running it for 2 years but it does have some issues and lacks certain features like LDAP integration. 2008-11-16 (Stuart Cianos) @Guy Van Sanden: Citadel will allow you to authenticate against any service which support the underlying authentication of the operating system (in this case, PAM). I have used this to authenticate users against PAM using modules such as pam_ldap; additionally, it can automatically populate an LDAP directory with information from its global address book for use with external clients. 2008-11-29 (Giorgio Zarrelli) I do not see eGroupware, what about it? 2008-12-01 (Guy Van Sanden) @Stuart: I tried PAM based authentication on Ubuntu, but it only works with pam_unix and not pam_krb5 or pam_ldap for me. Though I really like Citadel in many ways, it has too many limitations to use it as a full-blown groupware server like Zimbra or Zarafa. Zimbra is nice, but it really needs a dedicated server to run properly. @Giorgio: eGroupWare is not a groupware server but rather a Web frontend to other servers. 2008-12-01 (Giorgio Zarrelli) @Guy. I agree on Zimbra. It's too expensive, not all people can afford a dedicated server just for a groupware. Zarafa looks nice, but never tried it Zimbra or potentially bongo are the prettiest of the groupware products available which would make them great marketing tools for ubuntu. However Zimbra has too many

[Bug 348126] Re: ssh are using ssh-userauth but ignores private key
My experiences are as follows: Ubuntu 9.04 Logged into GNOME as a user copy existing id_rsa file to ~/.ssh/ and do a chmod 700 on it. (Keyfile being used here is 4096 bit RSA) open terminal and issue the following: $ ssh-add Returns: Enter passphrase for /home/me/.ssh/id_rsa: (or something to that effect) I enter the proper passphrase, then issue: $ ssh r...@192.168.0.1 I am then prompted for the passphrase to open /home/me/.ssh/id_rsa again. Every time. In the past, issuing ssh-add meant the key's passphrase would no longer be required for that session (That's how it worked in Debian Etch). In Ubuntu 8.10, I actually never needed to issue ssh-add... the gnome password manager just asked for it the first time and that's it. I don't know much more about it or what more logs I can pull, but if somebody would post the locations of any applicable logs I would be happy to post them. Also, in case it is relevant, I upgraded to 9.04 from an existing 8.10 system, so I don't know if this occurs on new builds, but it definitely occurs after an upgrade. Also I've tried this as multiple users and have the same results. [Bug 368153] [NEW] Kerberos, NFS4 and autofs issue
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Ubuntu 9.04 latest update. When mounting the users home folder over NFS4 using Kerberos with RPCGSSDOPTS=-n set in /etc/defaults/nfs-common a kerberos ticket is acquired for the NFS service thus allowing for other autofs kerberized mounts to work as well. However, if home is not on kerberos NFS (local) and the user trying to access kerberized NFS exports after logging in, a NFS kerberos ticket will fail to be acquired and the user must go through several manual steps for kerberos to pick up an NFS ticket. This is one way to do it: $ sudo kinit $ sudo ls -l /mountpoint At this point the automount will still fail as now the kerberos ticket is owned by root, however, if you change the owner of the ticket back to the original user, automount will be able to mount/access the kerberized NFS export. As mentioned at the beginning, this is not the case if the users home is NFS mounted as it seems to trigger a function that will automatically make Ubuntu acquire NFS kerberos ticket (machine credentials?). Note I'm not using client keytabs in this setup. I've added some verbose logging to this to try and figure out what the issue could be but the strange thing is the logs say the same even if it is able to mount: rpc.gssd access denied errors and failed to create krb5 context for uid 0. Is the mounting process by design? What triggers the mounts to work when $HOME is mounted over NFS and why do they fail if it is not? PS: this should be pretty easy to replicate if you have a working krb5/nfs4/autofs setup, simply point the /home autofs to somewhere else like e.g. /tmphome. Add RPCGSSDOPTS=-n in /etc/defaults/nfs-common and restart. ** Affects: kerberos-configs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: autofs gssd krb5 nfs4 -- Kerberos, NFS4 and autofs issue https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/bugs/368153 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to kerberos-configs in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 368153] Re: Kerberos, NFS4 and autofs issue
I'm not sure what package this is a problem with, but I can say with some certainty that it isn't kerberos-configs. This package only provides the krb5.conf configuration to find the KDCs and do other library initialization. This sounds like a bug in the NFS v4 userspace processes, if I understand your bug report properly. Am I correct in thinking you already have a Kerberos ticket but no service ticket for NFS is acquired to access the NFS mount? If so, that means the GSS daemon isn't doing what it should. If the problem is that you have no Kerberos ticket at all, then I don't think there's any bug here, just a configuration error on your system. In order to let the user access directories in Kerberos-authenticated NFS, you need to ensure that a Kerberos ticket is acquired for the user before they try. This will require pam-krb5 be installed and configured so they get a ticket at login. -- Kerberos, NFS4 and autofs issue https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/368153 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to kerberos-configs in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
