[Bug 379979] Re: Please merge amavisd-new (1:2.6.3-3) from debian unstable(main)

2009-05-25 Thread Scott Kitterman
Debdiff looks generally fine based on the reading it. I do wonder if
the clamav-daemon suggests should be versioned now? I think with the
fix included in -2 it will only work with 0.95+ now, but I'm not sure.
I am at UDS this week and don't have much time, but I will sponsor it
when I get a chance.

[Bug 196749] Re: migrationtools don't work except from their installation directory

2009-05-25 Thread Matt Burkhardt
Just did an apt-get install migrationtools for 8.04 server LTS and the
link in /etc/migrationtools/migrate_common.ph points to
/usr/share/migrationtools/migrate_common.ph which doesn't exist. I had
to read through this to find the file in
/usr/share/perl5/migrate_common.ph

Had to copy that file over to the /usr/share/migrationtools folder and
edit

Could you package this so that copying of files between folders is not
needed?

[Bug 237460] Re: Root on iscsi is not supported

2009-05-25 Thread Soren Hansen
To clarify, the disk-detect problem is that the open-iscsi-udeb isn't
loaded until *after* the loop that goes around looking for (physical)
disks runs. Incidentally, that loop does an "exit 10" if there are not
local disks at all, so the open-iscsi-udeb never gets loaded if the
system has no physical disks.

[Bug 380219] [NEW] Regression: Samba Read/Write Causes System Freeze

2009-05-25 Thread David Bridson
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: smbfs

Either reading or writing to a samba share mounted with cifs or smbfs on
Karmic causes the system to freeze.

I have had significant issues reading & writing mounted samba shares for
a week or so, and have now produced a minimal test case which
demonstrates the issue:

Given a 0-byte text file and a Samba share mounted as /media/Media2 :

If I run the command...

cp /media/Media2/temp.txt ~

...the process is killed immediately. If I run the command a second
time, the process hangs and cp takes up 100% of the CPU and cannot be
killed. If I run the command a third time, the system freezes, I can't
move the mouse pointer, can't switch Num Lock on or off and can't switch
to a virtual terminal.

The same behaviour also occurs when writing to a samba share. The same
samba share can be accessed fine from a Windows PC and from Xbox Media
Center running on an Xbox.

My system is an up-to-date Karmic x86_64 with smbfs 2:3.3.4-2ubuntu1
with the samba share mounted automatically using the following line in
/etc/fstab:

//192.168.0.1/Media2 /media/Media2 cifs
username=xxx,password=xxx,iocharset=utf8 0 0

This configuration worked fine with the released Jaunty and earlier
versions of Karmic.
