[Bug 37027] Re: samba fails to upgrade due to post-installation script

2009-06-07 Thread the motorman
I am using 9.04 . I have a similar problem cannot install or remove samba it is
stuck somewhere but not installed I get this when trying to reconfigure :
>>sudo dpkg-reconfigure samba
/usr/sbin/dpkg-reconfigure: samba is broken or not fully installed
The samba seems to be " installed" in usr/ instead ot etc/samba.
How do i do a clean remove and a clean re-install?

[Bug 383450] Re: When upgrading from openssh-server 1:5.1p1-5ubuntu1 to 1:5.1p1-5ubuntu2: "ImportError: No module named lsb_release"

2009-06-07 Thread Jacob Godserv
Here's strace. Unfortunately, there's some serious bugs floating around
causing dbus and other software to fail at the moment (see bug #384409,
for example) and dpkg did not quit. It was unresponsive, so I closed the
terminal window. It's still running in the background.

I don't think it's completed running (and never will), and I didn't get
the same error. It could be some other package that continued to run in
the background (can/do they do that???) that caused this issue. If you
don't see anything unusual in strace, you might as well mark the bug as
Invalid, since this'll be like searching for a needle in a haystack
AFAICT.

[Bug 283811] Re: cups says "can't promp for authorization" when printing to my samba printer

2009-06-07 Thread Luis Sousa
The same here with 8.10 and 9.04.

First print test after the first printer install, it works. Then the
line, AuthInfoRequired username, password is inserted in printers.conf
and its a "game over" situation.

I have a print server solution with Samba + LDAP + pyKota + CUPS.

The server and I need this for controlling user's prints.

[Bug 281188] Re: Panic or segfault in Samba

2009-06-07 Thread Thierry Carrez
The problem is those are different crashes, all ending in smb-panic, but
most certainly coming from very different causes. Some of those Intrepid
issues were fixed in Jaunty, so I would be interested in knowing if any
of you can still reproduce their crash after an upgrade to Jaunty. If
yes, please open a separate bug so that we can track it (and mark it as
duplicate if it is indeed the same as some other). Thanks !
