[Bug 242956] Re: Bind9 (8.04) not returning 'ad' flag when dnssec is enabled
I'm glad to hear you had good success with this with OpenBSD. [Bug 377322] Re: my sftp conncection breaks spontaneously after a while, I have to re-login to fix it.
Updates: 1. In the time it took me to write up that last comment, something reset itself, and I was able to reconnect. This is after several failed attempts 10-15 minutes ago. I didn't change anything, I was just here typing. 2. I'm actually not completely sure if it "freezes" nautilus, though it does freeze my desktop, and either way it takes a minute to get the error. 3. Until there's a fix I'll probably use this workaround: http://ocaoimh.ie/2008/12/10/how-to-fix-ssh-timeout-problems/ -- my sftp conncection breaks spontaneously after a while, I have to re-login to fix it. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/377322 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openssh in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 377322] Re: my sftp conncection breaks spontaneously after a while, I have to re-login to fix it.
I am having this issue as well, on Ubuntu 9.04. And I happen to know that the sftp server I am logged into does indeed timeout after a certain period. So I don't hold Ubuntu responsible for the timeout, only for how it handles it. On Intrepid I sort of remember getting an immediate error when I tried to access the timed-out connection, and I was able to re-establish a new connection by simply closing and reopening it in nautilus. Now on 9.04 it freezes nautilus (or, if I used the Places menu, my entire desktop!) for one minute before returning the org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply error that Xtien mentioned. And I haven't yet found a way to reestablish the sftp connection without rebooting. -- my sftp conncection breaks spontaneously after a while, I have to re-login to fix it. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/377322 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openssh in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Thierry, that's the option I was looking for and couldn't find, thank you so much. Colin, you're right it's seahorse who is adding automatically all keys it find in ~/.ssh. [Bug 375493] Re: tomcat6 needs debug start mode with jpda
While I agree that it is possible to get the same behavior with the addition of: JAVA_OPTS="-Xdebug -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,address=8000,server=y,suspend=n -Djava.awt.headless=true -Xmx128M" to default/tomcat6, it is finding this information that is non-trivial. A simple -d switch, or testing for $DEBUG in the init script would be much friendlier. If this is the standard debug incantation for tomcat6, what's wrong with making it so the user doesn't have to google or RTFM to find it. Perhaps put something like this in the packages default/tomcat6: # To enable remore debugging uncomment the following line. You will then be able to use a java debugger on port 8000 # JAVA_OPTS="-Xdebug -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,address=8000,server=y,suspend=n -Djava.awt.headless=true -Xmx128M" -Bruce -- tomcat6 needs debug start mode with jpda https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/375493 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to tomcat6 in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

BUT we removed all his preferences : for dir in .gconf .gconfd .gnome .gnome2 .gnome2_private .local .config do rm -r $HOME/$dir done When we do a "ssh-add", it works again. [Bug 242956] Re: Bind9 (8.04) not returning 'ad' flag when dnssec is enabled
The only system i could get this working at the moment was OpenBSD. To enable this i had to provide 'edns0' as an option in resolv.conf[1]. I have attached a PCAP (openbsd.pcap) generated with tcpdump. If you observe it (for instance with Wireshark) you will see that the request for the SSHFP records has the DO bit set in the EDNS0 section of the packet and the response has the AD bit set in the packet header. [Bug 208552] Re: Poor performance in smbclient while transmitting
This is still an issue and I'm fairly certain that its in samba on the client side. Setup is as follows: Server: OpenSolaris 2009.06, using native CIFS of a ZFS filesystem. Intel e1000g network card Client: 1) Windows 2003 server 3Com 10/100 NIC, mounting above FS gives a solid 11MB/sec copying a single large file. Therefore saturating the network link. 2) Ubuntu 9.04, same hardware as client (1), mounting the above FS gives at most 6MB/sec copying a single large file. Transfering the same file over SFTP gives a solid 11MB/sec. >From this testing the following can be ruled out of the stack: 1) The server, we get different performance to the same server 2) The network layer, we've been able to achieve full wire speed 3) The protocol itself, the windows client shows that CIFS is capable of high speed transfer 4) The client hardware and driver configuration, otherwise SFTP would also be slow It is therefore possible to conclude that the problem must be with SAMBAs implementation of a CIFS client. This is a stable setup, so if peple are interested in helping me debug I will be able to provide any required data. ** Changed in: samba (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid => Confirmed -- Poor performance in smbclient while transmitting https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/208552 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
