I had the issue from the original description. I was able to stop it manually using 'mysqladmin shutdown -u root -p ...' Then followed the instructions here: http://mirzmaster.wordpress.com/2009/01/16/mysql-access-denied-for-user- debian-sys-maintlocalhost/ And after starting it again I was able to stop it successfully. [Bug 528934] Re: IPv6 shouldn’t be disable d by default in libvirt
I’ve added the upstream bug. And yes, IPv6 would work correctly when you apply this patch. The original intent of the upstream bug report was that the virbrX interface was receiving RA’s from client VMs. Upstream patched it by way of both settings accept_ra=0 and disable_ipv6=1, though only the former is only necessary to fix the problem, which is exactly the behaviour that my patch fixes. ** Bug watch added: Red Hat Bugzilla #501934 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=501934 ** Also affects: libvirt via https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=501934 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown -- IPv6 shouldn’t be disabled by default in libvirt https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/528934 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to libvirt in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 532286] [NEW] Samba: remote Win XP and Mac OS X machines can no longer mount shares
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: samba Distro: Ubuntu Lucid Alpha 3 Package: samba 2:3.4.5~dfsg-2ubuntu3 I've been holding off on reporting this as a bug for several days, but simply am not able to make any more progress. Previously we were running Samba 3.0.2 on a Debian machine behind a firewall which redirects Port 445 traffic to the samba (PDC) server. Authenticated Win XP, Mac OS X, and linux users outside the firewall were all able to mount CIFS shares from the samba server. Recently I upgraded to Lucid/Samba 3.4.5. Nothing else was changed, and the smb.conf is roughly the same as before. (Let me note that I went through the package maintainer's smb.conf file with a fine-toothed comb, read the smb.conf man page completely twice, and ran testparm to make sure everything in the smb.conf file was OK.) Everything inside the firewall works as before. From outside, Win XP and Mac OS X users are no longer able to mount shares; *however* linux hosts have no problems. Using Wireshark, I did a packet trace of an unsuccessful mount attempt from a Win XP machine outside the firewall to and from the Samba server and a successful mount on a linux machine outside the firewall. The .pcap files are attached. As far as I can tell, the Samba server is simply not responding to the Win XP TCP SYN request, but is responding to the linux machines TCP SYN request. The Wireshark packet summary differences are listed below. The server IP address is 216.110.51.120: >From Windows XP: 192.168.1.64216.110.51.120 TCP 4617 > microsoft-ds [SYN] Seq=0 Win=65535 Len=0 MSS=1360 (server never responds to this) >From linux: 128.83.133.100 216.110.51.120 TCP 42098 > microsoft-ds [SYN] Seq=0 Win=5840 Len=0 MSS=1460 TSV=347894238 TSER=0 WS=7 (server immediately responds to this) Let me note again that we never had any problems with Samba 3.0.2, same Win XP/Mac OS X clients. I'm not including the smb.conf file, because I assume this information is irrelevant: everything works on the local network and for linux hosts being redirected through the firewall. Unfortunately, all the actual users have Win XP and/or Mac OS X machines, hence: problem. ** Affects: samba (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Samba: remote Win XP and Mac OS X machines can no longer mount shares https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/532286 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Ok, so it seems that there is one change which seems responsible for this: KVM: fix memory access during x86 emulation. [Bug 513273] Re: kvm with -vga std is broken since karmic
So one very viable approach would be to use the vgabios.bin and bios.bin that's built/shipped with the qemu-kvm source package. These are the versions of those bios files "blessed" by upstream and known to work. It's what upstream would prefer that we used, as these are tested with the qemu-kvm 0.12.3 release. As of the 0.12.3 release tarball, it contains all of the source files necessary to rebuild the bios bins. When I packaged and added seabios to Ubuntu, this was not the case (qemu-kvm 0.12.0). I think I'll do this in the short term, barring any objections. For Lucid + 1, I'm working with mjt and lool and hoping to get in sync with Debian, and use a common set of packaging between Debian and Ubuntu, which would ideally use the separate vgabios and seabios packages. -- kvm with -vga std is broken since karmic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/513273 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to qemu-kvm in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
