[Bug 566560] Re: samba server requires smbpasswd -a user constantly

2010-06-04 Thread Timbba
I thought that these lines were the problem:
[2010/06/05 06:05:59, 5] auth/token_util.c:522(debug_nt_user_token)
  NT user token: (NULL)
[2010/06/05 06:05:59, 5] auth/token_util.c:548(debug_unix_user_token)
  UNIX token of user 0
  Primary group is 0 and contains 0 supplementary groups

But actually they are not a problem. Here are full logs:
- error.log : after boot --> samba fails
- success.log : after readding user using smbpasswd and restarting smbd service
--> samba works

Adding:
My Samba shares always stop working after shutting down the computer. After
every boot, I have to readd the user "sudo smbpasswd -a " and restart the
smbd service. Then it works, but it should work automatically!

[Bug 556312] Re: libvirt/kvm relationships (suggest vs. recommend)

2010-06-04 Thread Dustin Kirkland
This is related to Bug #589888.

virt-manager currently recommends libvirt-bin, which itself recommends
qemu-kvm. Thus, when you install virt-manager (even if you just want to
manage remote machines), you get the whole hypervisor stack.

I think I agree with you -- that's wrong. I'm going to fix both of these
bugs, lowering these to Suggests in Maverick.

There may be some documentation that needs updating, and perhaps a
release note.

We have a couple of meta packages, ubuntu-virt-server and ubuntu-virt-
mgmt that should be used instead, if someone wants to install the whole
stack.

detect seriously broken tests and/or builds.

Re: [Bug 567188] Re: krb5 and ADS error using 10.04, not 9.04

2010-06-04 Thread Sam Hartman
My guess is that the DES only checkbox is checked in your AD
configuration for the service account used by the Apache server. If you
clear that checkbox and generate a keytab including both RC4 and DES
keys then I suspect allow_weak_crypto will not be needed.

I'm sorry, but I do not have instructions for generating an RC4 keytab
off the top of my head.

[Bug 567188] Re: krb5 and ADS error using 10.04, not 9.04

2010-06-04 Thread Troc Ster
I have encountered this issue as well. I use pam_kerberos and AD for
authentication and login authorization; this works fine.

However this issue affects kerberos mediated Single Sign On to apache
sites using mod_auth_kerb.so version 5.1 on the web server and the krb5
libraries on 10.04 (this used to work fine in 9.04). The SSO web
authetication fails and falls back to less desirable methods (username
password)

The issue is resolve by adding "allow_weak_crypto = true" in
/etc/krb5.conf

Package: krb5-user
Version: 1.8.1+dfsg-2

Package: firefox
Version: 3.6.3+nobinonly-0ubuntu4

the wireshark trace shows the client doing a TGS-REQ to the kdc where the
padata: PA-TGS-REQ
-> value .. AP-REQ
-> Authenticator rc4-hmac
-> Encryption type: rc4-hmac (23)
-> Authenticator data:

the response is a KRB-ERROR with error code KRB5KDC_ERR_ETYPE_NOSUPP

after adding "allow_weak_crypto = true" the TGS-REQ to the kdc is
responded with a TGS-REP which includes a ticket. The SSO session with
the apache server continues, and the wireshark trace shows the following
in the http headers :

GSS-API
-> SPNEGO
 -> netTOkenInit
-> krb5_blob
   -> Kerberos AP-REQ
 -> Authenticator des-cbc-crc
-> Encryption type: des-cbc-crc (1)
-> Autheticator data:

will add more info if needed. For now the the extra line works. Thank
you for the suggestion.

[Bug 588293] Re: Memory leak

2010-06-04 Thread Dick Tump
The guests are running Debian Lenny with the default 2.6.26 kernel or
Ubuntu 10.04 LTS with the default 2.6.32 kernel.

They are doing different things, but mostly webserving tasks.

The strange thing is, one of the virtual servers is running an
Exim/Spamassassin based spam checking gateway. And the memory usage of
that specific virtual server grows a lot faster than the others. Data is
partly saved on a ramdisk on this virtual machine. So maybe it's related
to how much I/O there is on this ramdisk.

I'm not running Lucid yet. However, you can check if the defect is there
just by reading a couple of files, you don't need to ask anyone to

Hmm, and this with the same set of 18.000 users.

I already checked if it's one special type of client, but that is not
the case. I'm seeing this form IE, from Safari, from Windows, from Mac.
It's a regression of some kind.

This site is a SquirrelMail installation; it's HTTPS only. I already
tried disabling suhosin and mod_deflate, to no avail.

[Bug 589611] [NEW] client sent HTTP/1.1 request without hostname (see RFC2616 section 14.23)

2010-06-04 Thread Ralf Hildebrandt
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: apache2

This is going to be a tough one.
We're seeing sporadic "client sent HTTP/1.1 request without hostname (see
RFC2616 section 14.23)" errors in our log:

[Fri Jun 04 11:26:43 2010] [error] [client 85.181.79.82] client sent HTTP/1.1

Looking at the past logs we find:

on May the 2nd, we're seeing these updates/installs:

2.6.32-22.33

The whole machine has been updated to lucid on April 30th. So it's
unclear if it's the libc update OR a regression from the lucid upgrade.

[Bug 576255] Re: can't install apache2.2-common (2.2.14-5ubuntu8)

2010-06-04 Thread Adam Conrad
A package failing to find conffiles after you delete them is exactly how
they're meant to behave. If you delete a dpkg conffile, "deleted" is
considered a valid "user requested state", and they won't be replaced
unless you reinstall with --force-confmiss.

This isn't apache-specific, though it seems that apache users seem to be
one of the larger groups of people who think that deleting conffiles
will improve their lives somehow. Not really sure how to curb that, but
not with bugs in apache.

Uh, I'm right here.

I've simply been very, very busy, and haven't had time to go through the
SRU process for the 0.12.4 release.

If anyone else wants to step in and help out, that would be most
appreciated.

It's all about finding the list of bugs that are fixed and writing a
simple test case for each of them. The technical bits are already done.
It's just the paperwork that I've yet to find enough free, consecutive
minutes to sort out.

[Bug 554094] Re: Windows clients cannot connect unless Samba manually restarted

2010-06-04 Thread Thierry Carrez
I'm trying to see if it's a timing issue...

Charles: Could you try to temporarily define a static address in
/etc/network/interfaces, reboot and see if samba works "out-of-the-boot"
?

Rene: are you also using DHCP ?

I suspect it's a side-effect of using the PAM stack here.

I already publish packages of VMBuilder within minutes of committing
anything to trunk.

[Bug 360975] Re: Please add nf_conntrack_pptp and nf_conntrack_netbios_ns to IPT_MODULES

2010-06-04 Thread Markhor
So? I don't get the point. This issue is still present in Lucid, will it
be fixed? I wanted my samba client to work and had to spend 4 hours to
finally come across this. It helped and host lookup finally works with
ufw. As you may guess, I am kinda angry that I had spent so much time on
this.

[Bug 543767] Re: ssh logins doesn't show the MOTD when connecting with public key authorisation

2010-06-04 Thread Thierry Carrez
If you use:
PasswordAuthentication no
ChallengeResponseAuthentication no
PubkeyAuthentication yes

then SSH will only allow public-key auth. The server has the public key
in authorized_keys, you need to have the corresponding private key.
