[Bug 597122] [NEW] Xinetd on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Server does not come with IPv6 support enabled
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xinetd The package for xinetd on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Server does not come with IPv6 enabled in the compile options, thus resulting in a package without proper IPv6 support. It is possible to fix this by adding a single line to the CFLAGS in the debian/rules-file and do a re-compile; --with-inet6 (possibly with an trailing \ if added before --with-libwrap). I'd very much like to see this fixed even though it's not much of an problem it's so easy to support IPv6 in xinetd it should not be left out. Perhaps it'd also be in place to update the documentation to reflect that adding flags = IPv6 to any xinetd service exposes the service to both IPv4 and IPv6 while leaving it out makes the service continue as an IPv4 only service. ** Affects: xinetd (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Xinetd on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Server does not come with IPv6 support enabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/597122 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to xinetd in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 322518] Re: No obvious way to prevent ntpdate to be run when interface are brought up
While I agree that the system should honour the chosen settings (so if you say 'manual time' that is really all you get), I would argue that all systems, desktop and server, should ship with a minimum NTP setup. If the load on the Ubuntu time server is of concern, then you could use the minpoll set to 10 (1024s) or similar for it. See: http://www.eecis.udel.edu/~mills/ntp/html/clockopt.html#server Those with greater requirements might want to add more servers to ntp.conf and some (like here in my university) may need to change the time server to a local one due to a slightly strange firewall policy. But I don't see why manual time should be preferred for any case other than a complete lack of internet connectivity! -- No obvious way to prevent ntpdate to be run when interface are brought up https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/322518 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to ntp in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Tomcat 6 used to shutdown with sudo /etc/init.d/tomcat6 stop in Ubuntu 9.10 but since I upgraded to Ubuntu 10.04 I can not shutdown Tomcat 6. [Bug 597459] [NEW] support creating raw disk image
Public bug reported: vmbuilder spits out qcow2 images by default. Generally, that's fine and dandy. However, it would be nice to have it create raw images instead. As a quick hack, I was able to do this by changing: --- vm-builder-0.12.3.orig/VMBuilder/plugins/kvm/vm.py +++ vm-builder-0.12.3/VMBuilder/plugins/kvm/vm.py @@ -26,7 +26,7 @@ class KVM(Hypervisor): name = 'KVM' arg = 'kvm' -filetype = 'qcow2' +filetype = 'raw' preferred_storage = VMBuilder.hypervisor.STORAGE_DISK_IMAGE needs_bootloader = True Clearly this isn't correct, but it would be nice if that filetype parameter was an option, and allow the user to input 'raw' the desired file type. Alternatively, if just qcow2 and raw are the only supported types, it would just be a matter of skipping the: img_path = disk.convert(destdir, self.filetype) step in that same file. Thanks. ** Affects: vm-builder (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- support creating raw disk image https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/597459 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to vm-builder in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 544146] Re: Unable to create cgroup for driver: No such device or address
In my install of lucid x86_64 /dev/cgroup doesn't exist by default. I followed this reference:: http://www.mail-archive.com/libvir-l...@redhat.com/msg15612.html And did:: mkdir /dev/cgroup # then tested with this mount -t cgroup none /dev/cgroup -o cpu, memory, devices before entering things in my /etc/fstab -- Unable to create cgroup for driver: No such device or address https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/544146 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to libvirt in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 579723] Re: kvm memory ballooning is unusable in Lucid
I also hit this bug after upgrading to lucid, and found an explanation of the root of the problem here: http://www.mail-archive.com/libvirt- us...@redhat.com/msg00328.html. The upstream fix is http://libvirt.org/git/?p=libvirt.git;a=commit;h=7a90f21655aedc35cf711264498ebb4a1b783c8a. It applies cleanly to the version in Lucid. I went ahead and tried the ppa referenced in the email (ppa:dnjl/virtualization), and ballooning (and everything else) seems to be working great. -- kvm memory ballooning is unusable in Lucid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/579723 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to libvirt in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 383926] Re: ssh-aggent stopped accepting connections
Oops, I was a bit quick on the trigger -- $SSH_AUTH_SOCK points directly to the socket, not to the directory containing it. :-( The correct workaround is as follows (i.e., this is a correction to comment #9 above): /usr/bin/gnome-keyring-daemon --start newsockdir=`ls -dt1 /tmp/keyring* | head -1` rm -rf $SSH_AUTH_SOCK ln -s $newsockdir `dirname $SSH_AUTH_SOCK` As Bullwinkle would say, this time for sure. :-) -- ssh-aggent stopped accepting connections https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/383926 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openssh in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
