Public bug reported: When enabling events with SET GLOBAL event_scheduler = ON; I get a flood of error messages when I stop mysql. A followup to Bill's comment above: I upgraded from 9.10 to 10.04 and dovecot failed to start, claiming to have problems with the sieve configuration in line 691. After some fooling around, I found Bill's comment above, and decided to backup the existing dovecot.conf and replace it with a new one found here: http://www.dovecot.org/doc/dovecot-example.conf. The ssl certs specified in this file are incorrect, and I replaced them with: ssl_cert_file = /etc/ssl/certs/ssl-cert-snakeoil.pem ssl_key_file = /etc/ssl/private/ssl-cert-snakeoil.key I then restarted dovecot and everything worked. instead of destroying vms, wouldn't be a more elegant solution to save the state of the VM in a statefile? So, after the heated debate at UDS, I turned byobu on for a couple of my own personal servers (1 Karmic , 2 CentOS). I have turned it off on one of those machines since, but rather enjoy it for the other two. The main reason is that I ssh into that box 2 or 3 times a day from different places, and I don't necessarily want to see what I saw. I just want a shell prompt to run something on. byobu gets in the way of that. I think this is a case of what kind of car should Ubuntu Server be? Are we trying to produce the feature rich ultra comfortable 7 series luxury sedan, or the spartan, agile, powerful M3 sport coupe? People can always add speakers and a nav computer to the M3, but you can't rip all the stuff out of the 7 series. I now have this working both on the ec2 instance and my maverick laptop using my own kvm and seabios packages. The kvm package is still the one in the bzr branch listed above, which needs sponsorship to get into maverick. I have just ran a 400-instance test with the latest patch (from Dave's PPA, 1.6.2-0ubuntu30.3.6). I sent the following to the interested parties: email begins I just finished a 400-instances run. I am extremely glad to state I saw no occurrence of the metadata/public IP issue. Of course, we are talking about a race, but I would say that we have drastically reduced (if not completely resolved) the incidence. I just upgraded my desktop from Kosmic Koala to Lucid Lynx, and
upgraded to the latest. Everything worked fine prior to the upgrade
except some unrelated networking issues. I now find that I cannot
launch any virtual machines using libvirt/qemu/kvm and
libvirt-manager.
If I try to launch a VM having only a CD-ROM image for bulk storage, I
get:
