Wasn't arbitraty. [Bug 640993] Re: passing a usb device in maverick with apparmor enabled fails
Does it work properly if you disable the apparmor driver? This can be done by adjusting /etc/libvirt/qemu.conf to have: security_driver = "none" Then restarting libvirt with: $ sudo stop libvirt-bin $ sudo start libvirt-bin Then verifying with 'virsh capabilities' that the following is not present in the host section: apparmor 0 ** Changed in: libvirt (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Changed in: libvirt (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Jamie Strandboge (jdstrand) -- passing a usb device in maverick with apparmor enabled fails https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/640993 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to libvirt in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

@Amos defaulting the port is one thing; setting it rather arbitrarily in the forwarded header is another thing altogether. @Henrik - thanks for finding that, I'll have a poke shortly at it. -- squid in lucid adds bogus port number to Host: line if one isn't provided (in original or via vport=) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/640511 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to squid in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 640926] [NEW] qemu-kvm-extras-static postinst should be version guarded
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: qemu-kvm When recently upgrading qemu-kvm-extras-static, I received the following output: Setting up qemu-kvm-extras-static (0.12.5+noroms-0ubuntu6) ... update-binfmts: warning: /var/lib/binfmts/arm does not exist; nothing to do! Ideally the postinst should be smart enough to know when this transition is required, and when it isn't required. This might be accomplished by looking for outdated packages, running on "upgrade" rather than "configure" and checking $2, checking for the existence of the registration, etc. The || true prevents it from blocking install, but it's a lot of text to store in the logs of a lot of systems to work around a differently named, less flexible package that was present for one release cycle (and no longer a supported one). No huge rush, but this really ought be fixed prior to next LTS, so that the LTS can be nice and clean. [Bug 640511] Re: squid in lucid adds bogus port number to Host: line if one isn't provided (in original or via vport=)
It is not clear to me which Squid versions this relates to. Looked over the vport logics one more time, and squid-2 did behave a bit odd and unexpected there. Squid-2 HEAD/trunk patch which should fix this at http://www.squid-cache.org/Versions/v2/2.HEAD/changesets/12698.patch and probably backports to Squid-2.7 as well. [Bug 564920] Re: PHP5 under Apache2 on 64 bit system is not completely 64 bit
The proposed fix (in lucid-proposed as 5.3.2-1ubuntu4.3.) corrects this bug. I have now tested version 5.3.2-1ubuntu4.3 and successfully downloaded a large file (> 2^32 bytes) via a dynamic PHP script on a 64 bit Ubuntu 10.04.1 based system. Just to add details: Test was with the PHP script ( https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/php5/+bug/564920/+attachment/1338515/+files/test.php ) listed in comment 3 of the bug report ( https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/php5/+bug/564920/comments/4 ). My large test file on one test system is 4697126912 bytes (4.4G) in size. Do you need any further input from me at this time? Once the next proposed update comes out, do you need anything from me other than to re-run the test at that time and provide similar comments on the test results? -- PHP5 under Apache2 on 64 bit system is not completely 64 bit https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/564920 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to php5 in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 615077] Re: [Maverick] SDL local window broken in last update
There are two issues here: 1- virtinst creates the libvirt xml file with a hardcoded Xauthority file set to ~/.Xauthority. The version of gdm that comes with Maverick now sets the xauthority file to a dynamic directory in /var/run/gdm. Every time you log in, your Xauthority file will be in a different directory, it is therefore not possible to fix virtinst. libvirt would need to be substantially modified to omit having the xauthority file specified directly in the xml, and would need to obtain it from the user's environment each time he starts a VM. 2- libvirt now runs with reduced privileges. When kvm is spawned, it is now done so under the libvirt-qemu user, which does not have the appropriate permissions required to access the user's xauthority file. -- [Maverick] SDL local window broken in last update https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/615077 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to qemu-kvm in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 640511] Re: squid in lucid adds bogus port number to Host: line if one isn't provided (in original or via vport=)
This is a feature designed for maximum compatibility with other software. >From squid developer discussions: " hno: default port in accel mode is the listening port unless told otherwise by the host header or vport. If you run Squid on port 3128 but it's actually processing port 80 requests then you need to tell this to squid with vport=80. It's hard to automatically account for NATs or other reverse proxies infront remapping things in unexpected manners without config hints. this default port == listening port is needed to support accel mode on non-port80 in an clean manner. note that you also have this same issue for the same reasons if you run Squid (:80) -> Apache (:8080) unless you tell Apache to override it's idea of the listening port. the short answer is: Do not remap ports in reverse proxy setups, doing so always bites back one way or another. Use IP addresses instead for request routing purposes. " In response to the multiple backends problem: If the backends are themselves configurable to separate the domain/port they are listening on from the public domain/port this is a non issue. Squid can listen on multiple ports quite happily, each of which will perform this same Host: re-writing to its own number and can (a) be dedicated to requests going to certain backends using that port. or (b) have their own vport=N option correcting the port back to the public one for subsequent URL generation. ** Changed in: squid Importance: Unknown => Undecided ** Changed in: squid Status: Unknown => New ** Changed in: squid Remote watch: bugs.squid-cache.org/ #2192 => None ** Changed in: squid (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid ** Changed in: squid Status: New => Invalid -- squid in lucid adds bogus port number to Host: line if one isn't provided (in original or via vport=) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/640511 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to squid in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 640588] [NEW] package winbind 2:3.5.4~dfsg-1ubuntu6 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 639768 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/639768 Public bug reported: Binary package hint: samba I'm not sure what happened here. I did an upgrade and something in samba errored. The terminal froze and I restarted it. I was then told that I couldn't get a lock on apt/dpkg. I ran these: sudo rm /var/lib/dpkg/lock sudo rm /var/cache/apt/archives/lock sudo dpkg --configure -a sudo apt-get install -f It allowed some of the updates to finish, but not all. Samba, winbind and man db (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/man- db/+bug/640584) are all having problems and created apport crashes. There were also various messages about dependencies being 1 ubuntu version behind what was required, the debian versions were the same (eg. packagex.x.x-xubuntu1 and packagex.x.xubuntu2) My dpkg is currently broken and I don't know why. I can not run dpkg at all now. I get this message. dpkg: parse error, in file '/var/lib/dpkg/updates/0018' near line 0: newline in field name `#padding' Running that in google gives me error reports from debian mailing lists regarding bugs involving a lack of freespace. My system has 4.8GB free and the bug concerned was fixed 2 years ago. I am running a system from upgraded lucid, not a fresh install. laur...@ursus:~$ lsb_release -rd' > - terminal hangs ProblemType: Package DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: winbind 2:3.5.4~dfsg-1ubuntu6 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-20.29-generic 2.6.35.4 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-20-generic i686 AptOrdering: samba: Configure winbind: Configure Architecture: i386 Date: Fri Sep 17 02:10:19 2010 ErrorMessage: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04 "Lucid Lynx" - Alpha i386 (20100224.1) RelatedPackageVersions: nautilus 1:2.31.92-0ubuntu1 gvfs 1.6.3-0ubuntu2 SambaClientRegression: Yes SourcePackage: samba Title: package winbind 2:3.5.4~dfsg-1ubuntu6 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 ** Affects: samba (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-package i386 maverick ubuntu-unity -- package winbind 2:3.5.4~dfsg-1ubuntu6 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/640588 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Proposed a bzr tree for merging. The lucid tree is identical to the maverick one, so if we can get it into maverick i assume we can get a trivial SRU. -- multipathd segfault https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/488285 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to multipath-tools in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Re: [Bug 639595] Re: updating kvm overwrites /etc/qemu-if{up, down} scripts
True on both counts. I agree with you, Serge. Document that these are symlinks, and that you can specify custom scripts with -net (which is what I do). -- updating kvm overwrites /etc/qemu-if{up,down} scripts https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/639595 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to kvm in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
