[Bug 710114] Re: kvm/qemu server "freeze"

2011-03-28 Thread slu
@ Serge,
yes KSM was enabled all the time and crashes, I disable it yesterday for
testing as you write in comment #14.

And no I can not reproducing the crash, sorry, I have no idea where the
problem is.

My first idea was, because the server crash every few weeks that the
windows auto restart function after windows updates was the problem, so
I disable the automatically restart of windows. But the server still
crash every few weeks again.

To find out its a KSM problem I have to wait now, after disable KSM support,
some weeks.
The hardware work 3 years fine, but maybe it is now really a hardware problem.

2011-03-28 Thread Serge Hallyn
@slu,

I'm confused. In comment #18 you said KSM was enabled, and I thought
the crash was 100% reproducible. Is comment #20 about a different
server? Or are you saying that with KSM disabled you cannot reproduce
the crash?

If it's not 100% reproducible (or even 50%) then maybe I just need to
spend more time reproducing?

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: apache2

When you configure apache to use a password-protected SSL key, you are
prompted to provide that password when apache starts. The PID file has
not been written at this point, so the init script won't work properly
until the password is provided or apache is killed manually. In ubuntu
10.04, when apache is started by upstart, it cannot read input from the
the console. You must login, kill it manually, then start apache. I was
able to workaround the problem using by adding "stty sane" to

# sudo restart qemu-kvm

KSM_ENABLED=0

Can not really reproduce the problem, the server running sometimes for four
weeks without a crash.
My plan is now to reinstall the server with Debian 6.0, when we have the

As you wish.

I had to reject the current lucid/maverick uploads, as they have an
incomplete changelog which doesn't refer to this SRU bug (as the very
minimum) and also don't give a rationale (remember that update-manager
will prominently display the changelog, to aid users in deciding whether
or not they want to install it).

The "single fix" in this case consists of all the DNSSEC cleanup and
bugfixing since the lucid version. I'd be uncomfortable trying to
maintain a franken-version...

I'm sorry, but I think I introduced some confusion. I thought we were
talking about our derived test cases, rather than upstream test suite.

[Bug 744371] [NEW] PHP5-FPM doesn't always restart on 10.10

2011-03-28 Thread Steve Corona
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: php5-fpm

The init script for PHP5-FPM doesn't handle restarts correctly. When you
restart an active PHP5-FPM process, it'll sometimes shutdown the old
process, but the new process won't spawn any children and handle
requests.

I think whats happening is that the new PHP5-FPM process is trying to
grab the FastCGI Port while the old process is still shutting down,
causing the new PHP5-FPM process to fail.

Either way, this can be fixed by changing restart to use graceful-stop
instead of stop

Currently it does-
   restart)
$0 stop
$0 start
;;

This needs to become
restart)
$0 graceful-stop
$0 start
;;

[Bug 651875] Re: Bind 9.7.0-P1 validation errors

2011-03-28 Thread Marc Deslauriers
Huh? Bind9 contains it's own test suite that pretty much covers all
functionality. Instructions here:

[Bug 623342] Re: ntlm_auth returns invalid NT_KEY

2011-03-28 Thread Stefano Rivera
Sorry for the delay on testing. We are having no issue with the lucid
update, and have tested the maverick one too.

Aiko:
I've prepared a PPA Build with a later version of the patch you linked to:
https://launchpad.net/~stefanor/+archive/sru

It seems to work (no regressions), but we also aren't seeing the issue you are
(a timeout).
I suggest filing a separate bug for this.

[Bug 651875] Re: Bind 9.7.0-P1 validation errors

2011-03-28 Thread Martin Pitt
Dave says we don't have a comprehensive test suite, instead he'll do a
wide call for testing on the mailing list. This will then take a little
longer to progress.

If this issue is urgent, I recommend backporting the single fix for
this, as it's much safer and a lot quicker to test.

But I'm ok with either approach (or both).

[Bug 744293] [NEW] Infinite loop in helper LVM script for DRBD 8 in Lucid

2011-03-28 Thread Numérigraphe
Public bug reported:

The script /usr/lib/drbd/snapshot-resync-target-lvm.sh shipped with drbd
v8.3.7 in Lucid fails to read its command line options and falls into an
infinite loop.

This bug is not in present in natty, but I humbly request an SRU to
Lucid.

This script can be called by DRBD to create an LVM snapshot of a
resource before it starts resyncing (thus becoming inconsistent). This
script is present (though commented out) in the default drbd
configuration file /etc/drbd.d/global_common.conf .

This bug can result in drbd silently failing to resync an outdated
resource. Thus, any newer data will be lost if the cluster fails over to
the outdated node.

This is a known problem upstream and it was fixed in later versions of
DRBD. The following patch was committed upstream to address this bug :
http://git.drbd.org/?p=drbd-8.3.git;a=commitdiff;h=1fd3ad953663615e946167191e1d9885af81450a

Steps to reproduce:
On a cluster composed of node A and node B:
 - on both nodes, uncomment the line "before-resync-target
"/usr/lib/drbd/snapshot-resync-target-lvm.sh -p 15 -- -c 16k";"
 - on both nodes, configure a drbd resource called "test"
 - make the initial synchronization
 - on B, do "drbdadm disconnect test"
 - nn A, make "test" primary and write to it
 - on B, do "drbdadm connect test"
=> the script will kick in and fall in an endless loop - top will show it
using 100% CPU.
