[Bug 731878] Re: amavis force-reload crashes amavis

2011-03-29 Thread Florian Effenberger
Seems it is indeed a bug, users on the mailing list could verify it. See
this thread: http://lists.amavis.org/pipermail/amavis-
users/2011-March/69.html

It seems to be directly related to the number of maximum instances.
netstat doesn't seem to give helpful information:

==
floeff@myserver:~$ sudo netstat -a | grep 10024
[sudo] password for floeff:
tcp0  0 localhost:10024 *:* LISTEN
floeff@myserver:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/amavis force-reload
Stopping amavisd: amavisd-new.
Starting amavisd: amavisd-new.
floeff@myserver:~$ sudo netstat -a | grep 10024
tcp0  0 localhost:10024 *:* LISTEN
==

Would love to use apport-collect, but I have only a console, and lynx
does not seem to work - I've always get thrown back to the same page
with a Continue button :(

[Bug 556332] Re: leftover /etc/init.d/bind9.dpkg-dist on 9.10 - 10.04

2011-03-29 Thread Michael Vogt
I uploaded a fix for this now into natty, its just:

2011-03-29 Thread Michael Vogt
I filed a bug in debian about this, but IMO we should simply kill the
following lines from bind9.postinst:

if [ $config = /etc/default/bind9 ]; then
md5sum /etc/default/bind9  /usr/share/bind9/bind9-default.md5sum
fi

or stop shipping a default md5sum in the package itself.

Re: [Bug 743484] [NEW] libupsclient.pc contains unresolved symbols

2011-03-29 Thread Arnaud Quette
Salut Fabrice

2011/3/27 Fabrice Coutadeur coutade...@gmail.com

 Public bug reported:

 Binary package hint: nut

 Hi,

 While I was investigating a FTBFS in collectd:
 ...
 configure:22249: checking for upscli_connect in -lupsclient
 configure:22274: i686-linux-gnu-gcc -o conftest -Wall -g -O2
 -I/build/fabrice-collectd_4.10.1-2.1build1-i386-7yH3eE/collectd-4.10.1/debian/include
 -DLT_LAZY_OR_NOW='RTLD_LAZY|RTLD_GLOBAL' -UCONFIGFILE
 -DCONFIGFILE='/etc/collectd/collectd.conf'   -Wl,-Bsymbolic-functions
 @LIBSSL_LDFLAGS@ -L/lib -lupsclient   conftest.c -lupsclient  -ldl  5
 i686-linux-gnu-gcc: @LIBSSL_LDFLAGS@: No such file or directory
 I discovered that this reference to LIBSSL_LDFLAGS comes from
 libupsclient.pc.

 As you can see in actual .pc file, this reference has not been resolved at
 compile time (content of more /usr/lib/pkgconfig/libupsclient.pc in a natty
 schroot):
 prefix=/usr
 exec_prefix=/
 libdir=/lib
 includedir=/usr/include
 sysconfdir=/etc/nut
 statepath=/var/run/nut
 nutuser=nut

 Name: libupsclient
 Description: UPS monitoring with Network UPS Tools
 Version: 2.6.0
 Libs: -L${libdir} -lupsclient @LIBSSL_LDFLAGS@
 Cflags: -I${includedir}

 This is because configure script and all makefile.in has been updated to
 use and substitute LIBSSL_LIBS instead of LIBSSL_LDFLAGS, but
 libupsclient.pc.in has not been updated.
 By replacing LIBSSL_LDFLAGS with LIBSSL_LIBS in .in files, the generated
 .pc file is correct.

fully right, thanks for investigation and patch.
For the sake of completion, lib/libupsclient-config.in (a replacement when
pkg-config is not present) also need to be fixed.

I've just applied it upstream (in NUT, commit r2960) while waiting for a new
Debian upload (I may lag a bit more, considering my current workload...):
http://trac.networkupstools.org/projects/nut/changeset/2960

Note that the above link may not yet be active by the reception of this
mail.

cheers,
Arnaud

2011-03-29 Thread karaluh
I've just installed karmic and was unable to connect to it in virt-
manager because the user I created during instalation wasn't added to
the libvirtd group. I've chosen that virtualisation host packages should
be installed as a part of the install process. Could that be the reason?

[Bug 744976] [NEW] euca-describe-snapshots lists all public snapshots

2011-03-29 Thread Scott Moser
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: euca2ools

with no additional parameters, euca-describe-snapshots will list all public
snapshots.
the command 'ec2-describe-snapshots' will list only those where owner == self.

euca-describe-snapshots doesn't support the '-o' flag at all, so really
this is a feature request, and without -o to restrict it makes sense to
list all.

So, this is very low priority bug.

[Bug 743322] Re: Man page for awstats-update installed in the wrong place

2011-03-29 Thread Andres Rodriguez
Hi Simon,

Thank you for taking the time to report bugs and trying to make Ubuntu
better.

I can confirm this bug report. This however, is fixed in newer releases
as the manpage is no longer shipped. Unfortunately, this is a none
critical bug that doesn't affect functionality, and it is unlikely that
this will be fixed in Lucid. For this reason, I'm marking this bug as
wont fix.

If you believe that this status is incorrect, please reopen the this bug
report.

Thank you again!

Thank you for reporting bugs and trying to make Ubuntu better.

Could you please try the following:

[Bug 742501] Re: Apparmor profile prevents read/write from /tmp

2011-03-29 Thread Andres Rodriguez
Hi there,

Thank you for reopening the bug.

The MySQL apparmor profile already includes the /tmp in the profile,
however as abstractions:

Which are used for various profiles. This file is found at:

I hope this helps.

[Bug 743883] Re: cannot load packages. Broken packages

2011-03-29 Thread Andres Rodriguez
Hi Ray,

Thank you for taking the time to report bugs and trying to make Ubuntu
Server better.

Unfortunately, the information you have provided is not enough for us to
determine what's the issue you are experiencing. Could you please any
information that will help us determine the issue? These information can
be:

 - Step by step to reproduce the bug
 - Sample configuration file on what you are trying to do
 - Failed installation logs (/var/log/dpkg.log) showing that samba is
installing/failing to install.

I'm marking this bug as incomplete until further information is
provided.

2011-03-29 Thread Andres Rodriguez
Hi Jose,

Thank you for taking the time to report bugs and trying to make Ubuntu
Server better.

Unfortunately, Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala) is reaching its End-of-Life
tomorrow April 30th. This means that Karmic is no longer supported. More
information can be found at [1]. For this reason, I'm marking this bug
as invalid.

I'd suggest you update to a newer Ubuntu release.

Thank you again!

[Bug 743821] Re: package winbind 2:3.5.8~dfsg-1ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: le sous-processus dpkg-deb --fsys-tarfile a retourné une erreur de sortie d'état 2

2011-03-29 Thread Andres Rodriguez
Hi there,

Thank you for taking the time to report bugs and trying to make Ubuntu
Server better.

Unfortunately this doesn't seem like a bug with winbind itself but some
other component, such as an error with the installation sources
themselves. This means that the sources downloaded are not correct.

This may have been caused for out of date sources, or something when wrong when
downloading the package.
Before installation, was a message saying that not trusted sources were to be
installed?

Please, do  the following:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get -f install -- to install packages that were not installed

If this doesn't solve the problem, please try to remove and reinstall
the affected package, and let us know.

I'm marking this bug as incomplete until further information is
provided.

And try to in

[Bug 745195] [NEW] Tomcat6 updates depend on tomcat-user.xml

2011-03-29 Thread Rene Treffer
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: tomcat6

How to reproduce:
- install non-latest of tomcat6
- delete /etc/tomcat6/tomcat-user.xml
- apt-get upgrade

Expected behavior:
- The package should be upgraded to the latest version

Actual behavior:
Setting up tomcat6 (6.0.24-2ubuntu1.7) ...
chmod: cannot access `/etc/tomcat6/tomcat-users.xml': No such file or directory
dpkg: error processing tomcat6 (--configure):
 subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

Tested systems: ubuntu/lucid(LTS) and ubuntu/maverick.

/etc/tomcat6 should be customizable. The post-install script has a hard
dependency on /etc/tomcat6/tomcat-users.xml which schould not happen.
The target systems were configured as solr servers and do not need
anything but a very basic tomcat configuration, provided by automatic
configuration management.
