[Bug 814436] Re: package postfix 2.8.2-1ubuntu2.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Looking at your dpkg installation log I see this postfix error: Running newaliases postconf: warning: valid_hostname: invalid character 40(decimal): (none) postconf: fatal: unable to use my own hostname This means that one of postfix's config files contains an error, which is causing it to stop the package installation process. As this constitutes a problem with your local configuration and not an error in postfix, I need to close this bug as invalid. However, in order for you to solve your problem, I can suggest two things: 1) Please carefully review your postfix configuration, the files in /etc/postfix/ and possibly /etc/aliases, for any errors. 2) Review the postfix documentation if you have any doubts: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Postfix 3) If you're still unable to configure postfix so it works correctly, you can ask for help by posting a question here: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/postfix Thanks for your report! ** Changed in: postfix (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to postfix in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/814436 Title: package postfix 2.8.2-1ubuntu2.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/postfix/+bug/814436/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Are the priority definitions documented somewhere? I personally think you were right on when you had the priority at medium. Primarily because of the fact that no error is generated. It can't just silently fail. If it generated an error (so that people knew they needed to look for a work around) then I would agree that fixing the bug itself would be a low priority, as the work around is simple for anyone to implement. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to qemu-kvm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/814222 Title: kvm cannot use vhd files over 127GB To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu-kvm/+bug/814222/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 803554] Re: upgrading to multipath 0.4.9 presents incompatible config file changes
Experimenting shows that we can have the older config values side by side with the new ones. e.g. ... prio_callout /sbin/mpath_prio_alua /dev/%n prio alua ... multipath doesn't have a rigid config file format, it seems to slurp symbols and then seek the key/value pair out on demand. In doing this, we can safely downgrade as well. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to multipath-tools in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/803554 Title: upgrading to multipath 0.4.9 presents incompatible config file changes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/multipath-tools/+bug/803554/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 804593] Re: Many "Safely remove" icons on virtualized XPs
Before upgrading: - qemu-kvm: 0.14.0+noroms-0ubuntu4 -> Removing VGA device crashes the guest After upgrading, I'm running with: - qemu-kvm:0.14.0+noroms-0ubuntu4.1 - qemu-common: 0.14.0+noroms-0ubuntu4.1 - libvirt-bin: 0.8.8-1ubuntu6.2 - libvirt0:0.8.8-1ubuntu6.2 Now the guest doesn't crashes any more. But if the user selects 'Safely remove' on the 'Red Hat VirtIO Ethernet Adapter', the virtual machine loses network connection... This could be a mayor problem, since they are accessed using RDP by non-technical users. I don't know if this is a bug... But can cause problems if the user selects this option accidentally.
